Becca Kufrin & Friends Defend 'The Bachelor' for Airing Her Breakup
While most of the fans in Bachelor Nation are angry at the franchise for airing the unedited footage of Arie Luyendyk Jr. breaking up with his fiancee Becca Kufrin, she is defending the show for doing it.
On part two of the finale, Becca told host Chris Harrison that she was okay with the footage being aired because it helped her get closure.
“I signed up for this knowing what it was and that my life would be documented,” Becca said.
Some of the other contestants from the season, who are close friends with Becca, appeared on the special before her interview. They said they’re glad the footage was revealed as it showed how strong of a person Becca is.
ABC exec Robert Mills says that Arie was not forced to film the breakup on camera.
“Of course he could have done it off camera if he wanted to! I think we certainly would have explained why … this still would have played out fairly similarly,” he told ET. “You can’t force somebody into doing something.”
