Kelly Rutherford Says Her Kids are Doing 'Wonderful' Four Years After Losing Custody Battle

Kelly Rutherford is providing an update on her kids four years after her nasty custody battle with ex-husband Daniel Giersch.

While attending the Smile Train 20th Anniversary Gala on Thursday (May 2), the 50-year-old Gossip Girl star says that her kids daughter Helena, 9, and son Hermes, 12, are doing “wonderful” and that she sees them all the time after legally losing custody of them back in 2015.

“They’re just growing so fast,” Kelly told People. “They’re just becoming their own people like, you know, all of us. It’s beautiful to see, and I love that they share it with me. They’re really open with me. We’re just really bonding, which is nice.”

Helena and Hermes still live overseas with their dad Daniel in Monaco.

Kelly and Daniel‘s custody battle began in 2012 when a California judge ruled that it was in the best interest of the kids to live in Monaco with Daniel because his work visa had been revoked, and he was banned from returning to the United States.

Kelly battled the agreement for years until 2015 when a judge sent Helena and Hermes back to Monaco with Daniel for good.

Since then, Kelly has been regularly traveling back and forth to Europe to visit them.
