We’re just days away from the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards and we’re taking a look back at who has won the most awards in the history of the show.

The artist who has the most awards recently overtook the previous record holder and that person continues to extend the record with more and more wins.

It’s important to note that the amount of wins per artist reflects the amount of wins for their music videos. Some of the prizes were awarded to directors, editors, and choreographers, among others.
