Jason Mraz hits the stage for a performance during the season thirteen finale of American Idol on Wednesday (May 21) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old singer was joined on stage by third place finalist Alex Preston to perform the singer’s brand new single “Love Someone”!

Jason just announced that he will be releasing a new album very soon and every Monday until its release he will launch a new song.

“I am very pleased and very proud to announce that my new album ‘YES!’ will be released on July 15,” Jason tweeted.

The finals are almost here and now we know who will be competing next week for the title of this year’s American Idol!

The contestants each had to sing three songs during this week’s semi-finals round and it was stiff competition for the Idol hopefuls as everyone did great.

The final three this year are 23-year-old Caleb Johnson, 17-year-old Jena Irene, and 21-year-old Alex Preston.

During the results show, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that during next week’s finale, Caleb will get to sing with the band KISS, Jena will sing with the band Paramore, and Alex will sing with Jason Mraz.

Alex Preston hits the stage for his performances on the top three round of American Idol on Wednesday (May 14) in West Hollywood, Calif.

“Tonight’s the night. I NEED y’all to vote. I want this so bad. Let’s do this, team!!” the 21-year-old New Hampshire native tweeted to his fans before the show started.

Alex‘s three songs on the show that night were Bastille‘s “Pompeii,” Rihanna‘s “Stay,” and One Direction‘s “Story of My Life.”
