It’s that time of the year – the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is going to be lit tonight during the NBC special, which is a star-studded event.
The 2021 Christmas in Rockefeller Center special will feature performances from several big stars ahead of the annual lighting event.
The annual holiday special will air Wednesday, December 1 at 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.

The famous Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center will have its annual tree lighting ceremony this evening and a star-studded event is set for NBC!
The 2020 Christmas in Rockefeller Center special won’t look like previous years’ events due to the pandemic, but some stars are still planning on appearing live from New York City.
Sadly, one of the stars set to appear has dropped out of the special.
Hamilton actor Leslie Odom Jr. tweeted this afternoon that he will not be attending. He said, “Sorry to miss the #RockCenterXMAS tree lighting tonight. All the best to the performers! Lighting the tree in my heart and singing along from home. 👊🏾🎄.”

Christmas in Rockefeller Center is set to air live tonight on NBC and we have the entire celeb lineup here for you to check out.
This year, NBC’s Today show anchors – Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, and Al Roker – will take on hosting duties as the iconic Rockefeller Center gets ready to be lit up for the holidays.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center, NBC’s annual special displaying the lighting of the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, is airing tonight on TV and there’s a loaded list of celebs expected to take the stage.
The special kicks off at 8pm ET with lots of performers set to take the stage to sing.
If you want to see the tree in person, it will be lit every day from 5:30 am until 11:30 pm through January 6, 2019.
This year’s tree is a 72-foot tall, 12-ton Norway Spruce that grew in Wallkill, New York.

Performances during the event included Seal, Jennifer Nettles, Auil’i Cravalho, The Tenors, Brett Eldredge, and Train who all performed some holiday classics for the hundreds of thousands of fans who attended the event.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting special is airing tonight on NBC live from New York City’s Rockefeller Center!
NBC has put together a great lineup of performers to take the stage and celebrate the annual tradition.
The show will be hosted by NBC Today anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker. Matt Lauer was also supposed to join the anchors, however, he was fired for sexual misconduct earlier in the day.
The Christmas Tree lighting at Rockefeller Center dates back to the Great Depression. This year, the tree that was chosen is a 75-foot tall, 50-foot wide Norway Spruce from State College, Penn.

Matt Lauer was supposed to host the NBC special Christmas in Rockefeller Center for the annual lighting of the New York City Christmas tree.
The Today show anchor was fired for sexual misconduct, and will obviously not be appearing on the special tonight. His former co-anchors, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker will all be on hand, and NBC will not be replacing Lauer at the last minute, People reports.
The holiday special will go on as usual tonight at 8pm ET on NBC.
