Naomi Ackie looks stunning at the premiere of her new Whitney Houston movie!

The 30-year-old actress, best known for her work in The End of the F***ing World, plays the iconic singer in the new film I Wanna Dance With Somebody. She walked the carpet at the world premiere screening on Tuesday (December 13) at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City.

Naomi was joined by her co-stars Stanley Tucci, Nafessa Williams, Clarke Peters, Tamara Tunie, Ashton Sanders, Tanner Beard, and Kris Sidberry, as well as director Kasi Lemmons.

Stanley, who portrays music exec Clive Davis in the film, posed with the real-life figure on the carpet.

Jazz singer Peter Cincotti opened up the Cafe Carlyle’s season with a special show and Katharine McPhee joined him on stage for a surprise appearance!

Madam Secretary actor Erich Bergen was scheduled to perform at the venue on Monday night (September 12), but was unable to do the show because of an emergency. Peter stepped in at the last minute to headline and Kat showed up for support.

Legendary music exec Clive Davis was also in attendance for the show at the famed New York City cabaret space.

Erich will be performing for the rest of the week and he’ll be back for two more shows in October to make up for the dates he missed.

“It’s like a small living room and a great sound system and the greatest place to be in the audience. But the best part of working there is they give you a suite to stay in and even monogram your pillows. There’s no backstage so its your dressing room. Living in the same place where you are performing. Elevator to stage in 8 minutes. It all feels very Sinatra in Vegas to me,” Erich told Town & Country about playing the Cafe Carlyle.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster are back on the red carpet for a good reason!

The married couple stepped out to attend Clive Davis’ 90th Birthday Celebration on Wednesday night (April 6) at Casa Cipriani in New York City.

David hosted the second half of the evening, which featured performances from stars like Barry Manilow (pictured in the gallery with Clive), Kenny G, Art Garfunkel, Dionne Warwick, and more.

Gayle King was at the event to interview Clive on stage for the first half of the event. Among the stars on the carpet was Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell, who is pictured in the gallery.

The event was produced by Erich Bergen, who starred alongside Kat in Broadway’s Waitress, and Marc Johnston, who is David‘s longtime manager. They also executive produced the four-part series Clive Davis: Most Iconic Performances, which is streaming now on Paramount+.

Stanley Tucci has booked a role in the upcoming Whitney Houston biopic, I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

The 60-year-old actor is set to star as Clive Davis, the Grammy-winning producer, in the movie, according to Deadline.

The site says that Clive was a “lawyer-turned-music producer and executive who had an extraordinary eye for spotting talent. That ability to find a star before they erupted on the scene led him to the wildly talented Houston before anyone knew who she was and, and he guided her to becoming a star.”

The film will focus on Whitney, and is described as “the joyous, emotional and heart-breaking celebration of the life and music” from the singer, “the greatest female R&B pop vocalist of all time.”

In addition to Stanley, Naomi Ackie will star as Whitney, with Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown.

Expected out in 2022, I Wanna Dance With Somebody will be directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Anthony McCarten.

Recently, Stanley opened up to fans about a personal matter.

Clive Davis is putting his annual pre-Grammys bash on hold after he was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

The 88-year-old record producer’s spokesperson revealed that Clive was diagnosed with the condition last week and is currently undergoing treatment.

Bell’s Palsy is characterized as sudden weakness in the muscles on one half of the face.

“He is being treated with antibiotics and steroids and is expected to recover within six to eight weeks,” Clive‘s rep shared in a statement with ET Online. “He is in good spirits and looks forward to doing the second half of his pre-GRAMMY gala in May.”

Late last year, Clive announced that he was changing up his traditional pre-Grammys party by holding to virtual ceremonies via Zoom for the 2021 nominees.

Part one of Clive‘s pre-Grammys party took place on January 30, and now the second party has been postponed until May because of his diagnosis.

The 2021 Grammys will take place on Sunday, March 14 with host Trevor Noah.

Earlier this year, this reality star also revealed they battled Bell’s palsy.

Clive Davis is making his party virtual.

The music business legend’s annual pre-Grammy party will not be in person in 2021 amid the pandemic, Variety confirmed on Thursday (December 17).

The by-invitation only gala is both a salute to industry icons as well as an honoring of a music executive every year, and features tons of performances.

“It will knock your socks off,” Clive insisted of the virtual gala, which will take place on January 30, one night before the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards are set to air on CBS on January 31, 2021 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST. Trevor Noah is set to host.
