The 37-year-old soccer star and his team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, played against the San Jose Earthquakes. Unfortunately for David, the Galaxy suffered a loss 3-2.

David recently starred in a commercial for the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone complete with the S Pen drawing capabilities.

In the commercial, the director displays to David where to kick a line of soccer balls. In the end, David plays “Ode to Joy” by kicking the balls at the instruments.

David Beckham attends the 27th Anniversary Sports Spectacular held at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Sunday (May 20) in Century City, Calif.

The 37-year-old soccer star was accompanied by his wife Victoria and sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz.

David Beckham is all smiles while visiting the Experimental University School of Athens on Friday (May 18) in Greece.

The 37-year-old soccer star chatted and high fived students before he caught a flight back to the UK.

The day before, David suited up for an Olympic promo event where he was formally handed over the Olympic torch for the upcoming London 2012 Summer Games.

Princess Anne flew back with David on a plane called the Firefly where the flame was kept alight in a lantern.

The 37-year-old soccer star was on hand as Greek officials formally handed over the Olympic torch to organizers for the upcoming London 2012 Summer Games.

The L.A. Galaxy player was introduced as “Sir David Beckham,” which “drew hearty laughs from the Brits, who knew that the former captain of the English national soccer team is not a knight.”

“The crowd in Athens didn’t care,” the Associated Press reports. “There was dead silence when the president of Greece was announced, a splattering of applause for [London Olympics organizing chief Sebastian] Coe, and a roar of cheers for Beckham.”

President Obama proudly shows off his L.A. Galaxy jersey in the East Room of the White House on Tuesday (May 15) in Washington, DC.

The commander in chief congratulated the team, including midfielders Landon Donovan and David Beckham, on their MLS championship title.

“We also have a young up-and-comer on the team, a guy named David Beckham,” Barack joked. “I have to say I gave David a hard time – I said half his teammates could be his kids. We’re getting old, David. Although you’re holding up better than me.”

The Galaxy players also participated in a Let’s Move! Q&A session with young sports fans and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Over the weekend, David’s boys – Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz – hit the beach with their nanny in Malibu, Calif. Mom Victoria Beckham stayed home with baby Harper for Mother’s Day.
