He shows up on the set, he’s like ‘I wanna lose 15 pounds on this movie.’”

George recently responded to the joke made at his expense by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at last week’s Golden Globes.

“I didn’t get to see it live, I was in Vancouver hanging off of a wire about 30 feet up in the air. But by the time I got down off of the wire [the joke] was already around the set,” George told E! News. “It’s okay, I got a little surprise for Tina Fey. Oh, I’ve been working on it. She might have poked the bear with the stick.”

George Clooney Covers 'W' Magazine's Art Issue

George Clooney blends into the backdrop on the cover of W Magazine‘s Art Issue.

Here is what the 52-year-old Monuments Men actor had to share with the mag:

On why he is still single: “I haven’t met her yet.”

On living a life in hotels: “Home is where my friends and family are. I spend eight months a year in a one-bedroom hotel room in a city I probably wouldn’t vacation in. … But no city… no space … fails to be a home if your family or friends can find a time to visit. I get desperately, depressingly homesick if I can’t find a way to be near the people that bring joy wherever they go.”

On his cinematic crush: “When I was a kid, I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. I watched Roman Holiday when I was 11, and I thought she was as elegant as anything I’d ever seen. And I fell madly in love with her. I also always loved Grace Kelly. I mean, when she comes out of the water in To Catch a Thief, I thought, That’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

George Clooney Talks Fame, Twitter, & Brad Pitt with 'Esquire'!

George Clooney suits up for the cover of Esquire‘s December 2013 issue.

Here is what the 52-year-old Gravity actor had to share with the mag:

On not wanting to join Twitter: “If you’re famous, I don’t—for the life of me—I don’t understand why any famous person would ever be on Twitter. Why on God’s green earth would you be on Twitter? Because first of all, the worst thing you can do is make yourself more available, right? Because you’re going to be available to everybody. But also Twitter. So one drunken night, you come home and you’ve had two too many drinks and you’re watching TV and somebody pisses you off, and you go ‘Ehhhhh’ and fight back. And you go to sleep, and you wake up in the morning and your career is over. Or you’re an asshole. Or all the things you might think in the quiet of your drunken evening are suddenly blasted around the entire world before you wake up.”

On his pal Brad Pitt: “For a long time now, Brad has been the biggest movie star in the world. He’s bigger than me, bigger than DiCaprio. And I really admire how he deals with that. It’s not easy for him. But he tries to be the most honest version of Brad Pitt that he can be. And he also remains unavailable. He’s still a giant movie star because you can’t get to him. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think of him as incredibly talented and smart and all those things. But you also can’t get to him.”

On dealing with fame: “I had my Aunt Rosie [Rosemary Clooney], who was famous and then not, so I got a lesson in fame early on. And I understood how little it has to do with you. And also how you could use it.”
