Kathy Griffin Defends Jim Carrey Amid Backlash Over Portrait of Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Kathy Griffin is defending Jim Carrey after he’s received criticism for his portrait of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

If you don’t know, the image that Jim posted is being called sexist for his portrayal of a woman in a power position and he’s also being called out for criticizing her religious beliefs.

Kathy tweeted several thoughts in his defense, including, “A) On the left is an image @JimCarrey tweeted on 1/30…right is the image of Sarah Sanders. His image of Sanders is not sexist – it’s his style of portraying people he believes aren’t acting in good faith. That he is being attacked for this is ridiculous.”

She continued, “B) Our country is facing an opioid crisis, a healthcare crisis, massive income inequality and this is what Fox & Friends and others spent time on this morning? Seriously get a f*cking grip.”

Judd Apatow Gets Support from Kathy Griffin & Bob Saget at 'Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling' Documentary Premiere!

Judd Apatow is dapper as he poses alongside his pal Bob Saget at the premiere screening for HBO’s The Zen Diaries Of Garry Shandling held at Avalon on Wednesday (March 14) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 50-year-old writer-director-producer was also joined at the event by Kathy Griffin, Jon Lovitz, Vanessa Bayer, Wallace Langham, Mike Judge and Martin Starr.

“I didn’t realize that he had chosen really consciously to be a mentor,” Judd told Variety. “I knew he was available to people and he was really kind and if you said, ‘Will you read my script?’ he would give you notes. But he wrote in his journals that he wanted to help people and he thought that was the win in life, to help people. I was able to get an enormous amount of footage from different people and then I realized ‘Oh, this would make a great Bob Dylan-type two-part documentary’ so we spent about a year searching for footage and just watching footage and then a year editing it.”

The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling is a two-part documentary on the life of the late comedian that features conversations with more than 40 of Shandling’s family and friends – Watch the trailer below!

Kathy Griffin's 'Laugh Your Head Off' Tour 2018 - Dates & Cities!

Kathy Griffin is returning to the stage and has announced new tour dates for her “Laugh Your Head Off” World Tour.

The comedian, who did a controversial photo shoot in which she held a bloody replica of Trump‘s head, cancelled her tour last year after the picture caused backlash.

“Donald Trump will not survive the live and hilarious indictment I will be bringing down on his orange head. Did I say head?” Kathy said in a statement. “To all of you in North America who have been sending so much love and support, now’s your chance to show it. Buy a ticket for one of these tour stops and I promise you won’t be disappointed. You’re gonna get the whole story. We will talk about THE photo that sparked a conversation around the world, how my mom Maggie still watches Fox News and thinks I might be in ISIS, and hell, I’ll even walk you through my interrogation by the feds. You’re not gonna get that story anywhere else! Oh, and did I mention that my next door neighbors during this whole ordeal are none other than Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye Kardashian-West?”

She continued, “My show isn’t for the faint of heart so leave your kids at home. My motto is ‘Funny First.’ But don’t worry, we’ve got some serious smack talking to do about everything and everyone.”
