Katie Holmes Talks About Life During the Pandemic

Katie Holmes is starring on the cover of Vogue Australia‘s November 2020 issue and she posed for a very sexy photo shoot for the issue!

Instead of being interviewed for the cover story, the 41-year-old actress wrote an essay about the “poignant truths that she discovered during the global shutdown and of finding new beginnings.” Unless you’ve ignored our website for the past couple months, you know that she recently started dating NYC-based chef Emilio Vitolo Jr.

Here are some highlights from the essay:

On being in New York in October 2020: “The city is emerging as a whole because of the fortitude and hard work of so many. There is a feeling of true connectedness among strangers. The subway isn’t as busy as it once was but we see each other more clearly now. We think about one another in appreciation for having survived the pandemic mentally, emotionally and physically.”

On the experiences that filled her journey of the pandemic: “During this time, I revisited books that I value. Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be. To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift. I enjoyed the time to escape into films. During this time of uncertainty, remembering to be creative and positive has been something I have tried to keep at the forefront of my mind. Throughout this experience the through-line for me has been a heightened awareness of each moment and really taking it in and appreciating it. Seeing my family in Ohio after months of FaceTime calls felt like Christmas morning. My mom’s eyes were brighter, my dad’s hands even stronger and our hugs much tighter. Taking time in Washington Square Park with a friend whose little child was taking his first steps brought me back to when my own child began to walk. I felt nostalgic and in awe of the power of time and the continuation of life.”

On her hopes for 2021 and beyond: “The world has shifted and taken on a new shape and I believe we have become better people. The absence of routine, the revelation of truths that lie just below the surface, the challenge of moving forwards despite fear, and the willingness to be open to what our new world will be, are realities that have connected us all.”

Sia Shared The First Pic Of Her Adopted Son Che

Sia is opening up even more about becoming a mother and actually shared the first pic of her younger son, Che.

The 44-year-old musician is pictured hugging Che from behind and they both have emoji sunglasses over their faces.

Speaking with InStyle, Sia got candid about her decision to adopt older kids and what went down during their first family dinner together.

“Older children have a really hard time getting adopted, and when I saw him, I said to myself, ‘That’s my son,’” Sia shared with the magazine. “I knew I wanted to help him. By the time I found him, he was 18 and aging out of the foster care system. I told him that I wanted to adopt him, and since he was an adult, he left with me that day.”

While she only planned to adopt one child, she came home with two instead.

“The only thing he asked was if he could also bring his cousin Che, who had lived with him in a group home. I had two spare bedrooms, so I said, ‘Sure!’”

Sia also recalled how both boys had tears in their eyes after their first meal together.

“The day they came home with me, Maddie [Ziegler] was over, and since she’s like my daughter, we all had our first family dinner together. Sitting at the table, my sons said, ‘We’re allowed to use knives here?’ In foster care, they hadn’t been allowed to use a metal knife to eat in years. And they’d never really eaten a vegetable either,” she explained.

“I basically sat them down that day and said, ‘What has happened to you in your life was wrong. It never should’ve happened. But my job now is to protect you, and we’re going to get through everything together.’ Both my boys had tears in their eyes, and from that moment on, I knew it was my duty to be the best mother I could be for them.”

Over the weekend, Sia revealed just how she decided to adopt a child. See what she said here…

Sia Adopted Her Sons After Seeing Them On A Documentary

Sia has revealed that it was reality television led her to adopt her two sons.

In her cover story with Vogue Australia, the hitmaker admitted that her obsession with reality television and documentaries was the thing that inspired her to adopt.

“I watched a documentary and saw my son. I was like: ‘What? Like, he doesn’t have anybody. Oh my god. I’m going to find him and I’m going to be his mummy,’” Sia shared. “So that’s what I did.”

Sia announced earlier this year, during a virtual interview, that she had adopted two sons.

“It’s one of the hardest, but I have obviously such an overflow of love that I could definitely see myself doing it again, but not for a while,” she shared about adopting again one day.

But she does have some plans in mind: “The next thing I’m planning to do is foster actual infants. Maybe [their mother] is drug-addicted and then I could help look after them until, you know, their mum can get back on the wagon or an adoptive home is found. If I can do that then I think I’ll feel like I’m superhuman.”

On top of being a new mom herself, Sia revealed she’s also a grandma!

50 Cent Defends What He Said About 'Angry Black Women'

50 Cent is featured on the cover of Haute Living‘s new issue and we have the first look at the photo shoot!

In the issue, the 45-year-old rapper, actor, and entrepreneur opened up about a controversial statement he made, the legacy he hopes to leave for his son, and where he’s at in life.

Defending what he said about “angry black women” to Lil Wayne: “What I said exactly was… ‘When the person is from somewhere other than what you’ve experienced, the communication is a little different because they come from different walks of life.’ And when I said that, [there was a lot of anger and women saying], ‘You don’t think black girls are exotic.’ And I said, ‘They be angry when they see a black man with someone else other than African-American women in general.’”

On leaving a legacy for his son, Squire: “I intend to keep that company for my son. I’ll be giving it to him when he’s old enough. You have to start thinking of these things in advance. I don’t know if I’ll always be around, so this information needs to be passed to him now… He needs to know what’s going on from the very beginning and be all like, ‘I’ve been running this company since I was six!’ Plus, I have an end goal; I’m trying to achieve generational wealth for my little guy.”

On being happy with where he’s at: “A lot of the guys I grew up with are gone. They’ve already passed away. They don’t have a life expectancy of 45. So regardless of what happens in my life, I’m content with where I’m at, with the things I’ve already accomplished.”

Travis Scott Reveals He Wrote A Song For Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet'

Travis Scott has revealed that he wrote a brand new song for the soundtrack of Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming movie, Tenet.

In his cover story for the new issue of GQ, the 28-year-old musician accidentally played a snippet of the track before turning it off.

According to Christopher, Travis‘s song is “crucial” to the movie.

“His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle,” he shared over an email to the magazine. “His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

There’s no title for Travis‘s song just yet, and he also, like many others, has no clue what the movie is actually about.

“I can’t even explain it,” he shared. “You literally just have to watch it. It’s very fire.”

Tenet has had many release dates over the course of the pandemic. Find out when it will finally hit select theaters around the country…
