“The second time we properly hung out together was in 2010 when I was invited to film Sylvia Earle for a TED conference expedition to the Galapagos. Leo was on the expedition,” Fisher revealed about when he began to work with Leo (via GQ). “I was filming Sylvia and I had this little easy camera to shoot underwater, and he was Sylvia’s diving buddy, so I said, would you film Sylvia? And he said, ‘Yeah I love it man, I love it’. I was diving buddies with Edward Norton. So we go down and we see 300 Eagle Rays and Spotted Rays and it was an amazing dive. Leo bolts away with Sylvia, and Edward goes in front of me and the next thing I know after twenty minutes I’d lost them all. Then, I see Leo buddy breathing, because Leo’s tank was leaking oxygen, and Edward had to save him! It was pretty crazy. But he actually did get some film for me and it was good for a second and then it got pretty shaky when he couldn’t breathe. But we really bonded on that trip.”

Mark Ruffalo Responds to Matt Bomer Casting Criticism as Transgender Sex Worker in 'Anything'

Mark Ruffalo has taken to Twitter to respond to criticism of the casting of Matt Bomer as a transgender sex worker in the new movie Anything.

Mark is executive producing the movie, which has already been filmed. Many have criticized the movie, saying a transgender woman should portray the character, rather than a cisgender actor.

“To the Trans community. I hear you. It’s wrenching to you see you in this pain. I am glad we are having this conversation. It’s time,” Mark wrote. “In all honesty I suggested Matt for the role after the profound experience I had with him while making ‘The Normal Heart.’”

One Twitter user replied, “Especially given how he has handled interactions with actual trans women, I would suggest a recast. now,” to which Mark wrote back, “The movie is already shot and Matt poured his heart and soul into this part. Please have a little compassion. We are all learning.”
