Rodrigo Santoro has landed the role of Jesus Christ in the upcoming Ben-Hur movie remake, according to THR.
The 39-year-old Brazilian actor, who is best known for his roles in 300: Rise of an Empire, Love Actually, and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, will be joining a star-studded cast in the film.
Ben-Hur follows a Jewish prince (Jack Huston) who is betrayed and sent into slavery by a Roman friend (Toby Kebbell), then regains his freedom and comes back for revenge.
Also starring in the movie are Morgan Freeman, Olivia Cooke, and Ayelet Zurer.
