Jim Carrey's 'Kidding' Canceled at Showtime After 2 Seasons

Kidding is coming to an end.

The Jim Carrey-led comedy is ending after a two season run at Showtime, THR confirmed on Tuesday (July 14).

The second season ended in March, and left the storyline open for a third season.

“After two seasons, Kidding has concluded its run on Showtime. We are very proud to have aired this imaginative, critically acclaimed and rewarding series, and we would like to thank Jim Carrey, Dave Holstein, Michael Aguilar, Michel Gondry and the entire cast and crew for their brilliant and tireless work,” Showtime said in a statement.

The half-hour dark comedy was Jim‘s first TV show stint after nearly three decades. He recently revealed why he didn’t audition for SNL.

Showtime's 'Billions' & 'Black Monday' Seasons Split Amid Production Shutdowns!

Showtime has made some changes to its schedule as a result of the current health crisis.

The network has announced that season two of Black Monday, which is currently airing, and season five of Billions will be interrupted mid-flow.

Black Monday will air through six episodes until April 12, at which point it will go on hiatus, returning with its last four episodes at an undetermined point later this year, Variety reports.

Likewise Billions is still on track to premiere their upcoming fifth season on May 3 and air seven episodes un-interrupted, before going off the air for an as yet undecided length of time.

In addition, Showtime has summoned up drama The Chi to help fill the void. The Chi‘s third season, originally scheduled to premiere July 5, has been moved up to June 21.

The entire season of Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels has been finished and will begin airing April 26 as scheduled.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is finding a new home!

The All Stars edition of the long-running drag competition series is moving to Showtime with a “new special edition” on June 5 at 8 p.m. ET, the network announced on Thursday (February 20).

The special edition of All Stars will follow the season finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 on VH1.

'Shameless' Will End After the Upcoming 11th Season

The long-running Showtime series Shameless has been renewed for an 11th and final season.

William H. Macy stars in the beloved series, which is based on a U.K. series that also ran for 11 seasons.

“I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from [Showtime Entertainment president] Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that’s allowed us to make Shameless,” series creator John Wells said in a statement (via THR). “It’s been a fantastic experience and all of us in the cast and crew have had a wonderful time following the lives of the Gallagher family and friends. It’s been a pleasure!”

Emmy Rossum left the series at the end of its ninth season. The 10th season is currently airing and the final season is expected to premiere this summer.

‘On Becoming A God In Central Florida’ Gets Renewed for Season 2!

On Becoming a God In Central Florida is getting a second season!

Following its first season premiere, the show was renewed by Showtime as of Thursday (September 26).

The series stars Kirsten Dunst, and is “about the cult of free enterprise and one woman’s relentless pursuit of the American Dream.”

“With such imaginative storytelling and an absolutely inspired lead performance, On Becoming A God In Central Florida has been a revelation…we couldn’t be happier that On Becoming A God is on Showtime, nor more eager to see what wild events await our ensemble in the downline of season two,” said Showtime exec Jana Winograde in a statement.

Showtime Releases 'The L Word: Generation Q' First Look Teaser - Watch!

The first look at Showtime’s The L Word: Generation Q is here!

The upcoming series, which debuts on December 8 at 10 p.m. ET, is a sequel to the original series The L Word, which ran from 2004 to 2009.

The new series “continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey) and Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig), along with new characters Dani Nùñez (Arienne Mandi), Micah Lee (Leo Sheng), Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas) and Gigi (Sepideh Moafi) as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A.”

The show is currently in production on eight episodes in Los Angeles, and will feature guest appearances by Brian Michael, Stephanie Allyne, Olivia Thirlby, Fortune Feimster and Latarsha Rose.

Kirsten Dunst is starring in the upcoming Showtime series On Becoming a God in Central Florida and the first poster and trailer have arrived!

The 37-year-old actress is seen wearing braces on the poster for the show, which is a story about the cult of free enterprise and one woman’s relentless pursuit of the American Dream.

Set in a small Orlando-adjacent town in 1992, the series follows Krystal Stubbs (Dunst), a minimum-wage water park employee who lies, schemes and cons her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise (FAM) — the cultish, flag-waving, multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme that drove her to ruin in the first place, run by the powerful Obie Garbeau II (Ted Levine). Determined to make a better life for herself, Krystal dives deep into FAM and develops a tangled relationship with FAM’s most loyal and fanatical follower Cody (Theodore Pellerin), until her business begins to affect those closest to her, including Ernie (Mel Rodriguez), her affable water park boss, and his FAM-skeptic wife Bets (Beth Ditto).

Alexander Skarsgard and Mary Steenburgen also star in the 10-episode dark comedy series. The first episode airs on Sunday, August 25.
