Stacey Dash Apologizes for Past Support of Donald Trump, Admits She 'Made a Lot of Mistakes'

Former Fox News contributor Stacey Dash is making a lot of apologies for her past support of Donald Trump.

She revealed she voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and then voted for Mitt Romney in 2012. She said she now describes herself as “apolitical.”

“I’ve lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News,” she said to Daily Mail. “I was the angry, conservative, Black woman. And at that time in my life, it was who I was. I realized in 2016 that anger is unsustainable and it will destroy you. I made a lot of mistakes because of that anger.”

She continued, “Things that I did say, that I should not have said them the way I said them. They were very arrogant and prideful and angry. And that’s who Stacey was, but that’s not who Stacey is now. Stacey‘s someone who has compassion, empathy.”

“I’m not a victim of anyone. Working for Fox at the time, that was my job. I did my job from the place I was at. Stacey now would never work at Fox, would never work for a news network or be a news contributor,” she added.

Dash said, “Being a supporter of Trump has put me in some kind of box that I don’t belong in. But he’s not the president. I’m going to give the president that we have right now a chance.”

“When that happened I was like ‘OK, I’m done. I’m truly done,’” she said of her support of Donald Trump after the Capitol Riots on January 6, 2021. “Because senseless violence of any kind I denounce. What happened on January 6 was just appalling and stupid.”

How does Dionne deal with the pressures of being the new most popular girl in school, while also unraveling the mystery of what happened to her best friend?”

Stacey Dash Officially Drops Out of Congressional Race

Stacey Dash has withdrawn from her congressional race just one month announcing her campaign.

The 51-year-old Clueless actress and conservative commentator was hoping to win a U.S. congressional seat for her district in California.

In a statement, Stacey explained that she believed the race would impact the health and well being of her family.

“After much prayer, introspection and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy. I started this run with the intention to address the pressing issues in the district where I live. I hoped, and remain hopeful, that I can assist people living here on the national level. My goal was, and remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party,” Stacey said.

She continued, “I believe that the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating in the rigors of campaigning, and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family. I would never want to betray the personal and spiritual principles I believe in most: that my God and my family come first.”
