Michelle Obama Brings The Arts To Kids
First Lady Michelle Obama (in Michael Kors) arrives to address the Design Awards luncheon in the East Room of The White House in Washington, D.C., on Friday (July 24).
“An educational foundation is only part of the equation,” said Obama, who wants to expose more kids to the arts. “In order for creativity to flourish and imagination to take hold, we also need to expose our children to the arts from a very young age. We need to ensure that our children have both – knowledge and imagination. I know I want that for my girls. They deserve to have access to a good education and access to ideas and images that will spark their creativity.”
Later in the day, Michelle and President Barack Obama along with Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Conway and his wife attended the Marine Corps Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C.
