During the interview, Lorde spoke about her rise to fame, and what she didn’t anticipate when she first became famous with “Royals.”

“Right when you can afford to buy anything you want, you get given everything for free. It doesn’t make any sense. Don’t give us free stuff,” she laughed.

She also revealed her candid thoughts about her albums Pure Heroine and Melodrama, as well as her upcoming album Solar Power, the song she wish she’d written, the artist she’d like to speak to, and the most important thing she learned about producing her own music.

Plus, she spoke about the surprising item she brings with her on tour, and the best advice she ever got from producer Jack Antonoff.

Lorde recently revealed how she feels about a fellow star she’s sometimes compared to, Billie Eilish.
