Lea Michele Starts 'Funny Girl' Rehearsals, Shares Text Message from BFF Jonathan Groff

Lea Michele has officially started rehearsals for her performance in Funny Girl!

The 35-year-old actress just wrapped up the first leg of her Life in Music tour and now she’s in rehearsals for her return to Broadway.

Lea took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday morning (July 26) to share a photo of the Funny Girl script. She captioned the post, “Here we go…”

Later in the day, Lea shared her text message exchange with BFF Jonathan Groff, who wished her luck on her first day of work.

Jonathan wrote, “Sending you so much love for your first official day tomorrow maam.” She replied at 9am this morning with a selfie of herself heading work. “On my way!!!!” she wrote.

In response, Jonathan quoted the first line in the musical, “Hello gorgeous :) Have a blast!!!”

Lea confirmed some news about the show and one song fans won’t be hearing in the musical.
