Joe Pesci Recalls Getting Serious Burns On His Head After 'Home Alone 2' Stunt

Joe Pesci is looking back at Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, 30 years after it hit theaters.

The 79-year-old actor starred as Harry, one half of the Wet Bandits, with Daniel Stern and Macaulay Culkin.

In the flick, Harry and Daniel‘s Marv go through a lot of Kevin’s pranks and at one point Harry’s head is set on fire – which Joe said was actually real.

“In addition to the expected bumps, bruises and general pains that you would associate with that particular type of physical humor, I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry’s hat is set on fire,” Joe told People. “I was fortunate enough to have professional stuntmen do the real heavy stunts.”

Joe also opened up about working with Macaulay, and said he “intentionally limited my interactions with him to preserve the dynamic between his character, Kevin, and my character Harry.”

“[I did not] want it to come across on the screen that we were in any way friendly. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the adversarial relationship,” he added.

However, Joe is hesitant to say yes to any more Home Alone movies.

“While you never say never, I think that it would be difficult to replicate not only the success but also the overall innocence of the originals,” he said. “It’s a different time now; attitudes and priorities have changed in 30 years.”

You can stream Home Alone, and Home Alone 2, on Disney+ now, as well as the most recent movie in the franchise, Home Sweet Home Alone.
