On Matthew Perry’s tragic death and the impact he had on Zac Efron’s career…

“He was in a unique position for me in my career, and in my life. His passing is affecting me a lot,” Zac said about Matthew, who passed away at the age of 54 in October.

He continued, saying, “It can be incredibly lonely, being an actor and being in the spotlight. It definitely can be isolating. It’s very important to reach out to friends and foster relationships where you can talk and share stories. I wish in the past couple of years that I had an opportunity to do that with Matthew. I hold the time we shared together really dear. I’ve been thinking about him a lot, every day.”

Speaking to the outlet, Zac reveals that he is in regular contact with John Cena, Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman.

Nicole, who shared the screen with him in The Paperboy, praised the actor and expressed hope that his new movie would be a hit.

“I want to see Zac be lauded,” she said. “I know he put his whole heart and soul into that movie, and I watched him physically and emotionally change to play that role.”
