Janet Jackson story

Back in the 1980s, the 62-year-old entertainer was appearing on the variety show Solid Gold at the same time as the 57-year-old singer.

“When it comes to me and Janet, let’s wait a while,” he wrote in “Karma,” his new autobiography.

He initially went up to her “without my face on” and she apparently did not recognize him.

“She wasn’t friendly and didn’t try to be. But I just walked off and got myself into my best ‘Boy George’ and was walking around backstage to make sure I was seen by everyone,” he wrote.

He was then reportedly approached by a member of Janet‘s crew, who had a video camera and requested he film a message for her. He then wrote that he said, “Next time you meet someone, be nice.”

After this, he was brought into her dressing room, where she reportedly said she did not recognize him at first.

Boy George then says he responded, “‘Are you saying you would have been nice to me if you knew who I was?’ We parted on awkward terms.” Years later when they saw each other, “she looked straight through me.”

About all of this, he recalled to People, “When you write a book like this, there’s a chance you’re going to bump into someone that you’ve written about. I have to say what I’ve written about people is the truth of what happened and how they behaved. So I’m kind of comfortable with that. I’m always someone who’s prepared to bury the hatchet because there’s always another opportunity to be different.”

He added, “At this point, there’s certain people I’m never gonna be friends with unless a miracle happens — and I guess I put her in that category.”
