John Mayer Tests Positive for COVID-19 for Second Time in Two Months

John Mayer has revealed that he was tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in less than two months.

On Thursday (February 24), the 44-year-old musician announced that he was postponing several dates of his Sob Rock Tour after he and several other band mates tested positive for the virus.

“Whelp. More members of the band tested positive for Covid today, and I was one of them. This means we have to reschedule the next four shows, which we’ve already rescheduled and posted above. I’m so sorry to make you change your plans,” John wrote on Instagram.

John and his band mates’ positive test results come several days after he had to make some changes to his New York City show earlier this week when his drummer tested positive.

Back in early January, John had to skip out on a performance at the 2022 Playing in the Sand Festival after testing positive for COVID.

“This is a bummer for everyone in the band and crew, to say nothing of the question hanging over everyone’s head – mine included – as to how I tested positive on PCR twice in two months,” John added in his message. “(The first was extremely mild, but this one’s got the better of me.) We’ll give you everything we’ve got at these upcoming shows, just as soon as we rest up and regroup. With love and appreciation… me”

John‘s February 25 show in Pittsburgh has now been rescheduled for May 5, while the March 1 show at Belmont Park in New York will now take place on May 7, and his two Boston shows will now take place on May 9 and 10.
