'The Sandman' Stars Share Sneak Peek of Netflix Series at San Diego Comic-Con 2022

The Sandman is coming!

The highly anticipated Netflix adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s comic book series is set to arrive on the streamer on August 5, and the cast is providing a new look at the upcoming show.

During a panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, the cast of the show – including Tom Sturridge, Vivienne Acheampong, Patton Oswalt, Jenna Coleman, Mason Alexander Park, Gwendoline Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Kyo Ra, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and showrunner Allan Heinberg – provided a new sneak peek of the show.

Neil told the crowd that he “love[s] what we’ve done — it feels really good.” And Allan added: “The show has been a dream come true and the goal was to make it as faithful to the book as possible,” something Netflix and Warner Bros. have been very supportive of.”

Neil also revealed that comic book cover artist Dave McKean is involved, saying: “When [development on] Sandman began, people kept saying, is Dave McKean going to do something for [it]?…Every episode has end-title credits, and it’s a different sequence for each episode, this amazing, flowing film that Dave McKean made,” via Deadline.

The show follows the people and places affected by Morpheus (Sturridge), the Dream King, as he tries to fix all the cosmic and human mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
