Austin Butler Shares The Unique Reason Of Why Quentin Tarantino Does Multiple Takes For His Movies

Austin Butler is opening up about working with Quentin Tarantino for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

If you recall, the 31-year-old recent BAFTA winner played the small role of Tex Watson in the star-studded movie.

During his appearance on The Hot Ones, Austin talked about the chatter on how Quentin likes to do multiple takes of the same scene.

During the segment, Austin says that he’s “talked a lot about how much Quentin meant to me” and that “it was always my dream to work with him” before recalling the ritual he was introduced to on the set.

“We’re on set and he says, ‘OK, we got it. We’re going to do one more. You know why?’ And the entire crew screams, ‘Becase we love making movies!’ And the first time you’re there, you’re not in on it. So Brad, Leo, everybody is like, ‘Because we love making movies!’” Austin shared.

He then added the impact of that on not only the cast and crew, but the set as a whole.

“There are sets that are so sterile,” he added. “There are sets where there is no joy. There are sets where people are just at a job, and you’re trying to create something that you’re going to give to the world.”

“With Quentin, that was so cool because it just changes the atoms in the room,” Austin admits. “Then the next time that ‘We love making movies!’ happens, you’re in on it. So every crew new member or actor or whomever, suddenly they’re part of the tribe at that point, saying ‘We love making movies!.’”

Just recently, Austin commented on the Zoey 101 movie, and if he’d be involved in any way.
