Lindsay Lohan: House Arrest for Jewelry Theft Case
Lindsay Lohan began serving house arrest on Thursday (May 26) at her Venice, Calif., townhouse, People reports.
Late last month, the 24-year-old actress was sentenced to four months in jail after she pleaded no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace.
Lindsay turned herself in to the Lynwood Jail on Thursday morning at 5:02 a.m., but due to overcrowding, and since Lindsay is a nonviolent offender, she was eligible for house arrest and fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet.
Lindsay has also been serving 480 hours of community service as part of her sentence.
