Showrunner Vince Gilligan Urges Fans to Stop Throwing Pizza on 'Breaking Bad' House Roof

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is urging fans of the show to stop throwing pizzas on the roof of the real life home of fictional character Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston).

“Lately, we’re hearing from the owner that folks are wandering on to her property, and are being rude to her when she comes out and basically says ‘you’re on my property,’” Vince said on the Better Call Saul Insider Podcast last night (March 10). “They are throwing pizzas on roofs and stuff like that. Let me tell you, there is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof. It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You are not the first.”

Jonathan Banks, who played the character of Mike Ehrmantraut on the show, added: “If I catch you doing it, I will hunt you down.”

In a season three episode of Breaking Bad, titled “Caballo Sin Nombre,” Walter throws a pizza on his roof after his wife Skyler (Anna Gunn) rejects his efforts to make amends.

AMC has picked up the upcoming series Better Call Saul for a second season way ahead of the show’s debut!

While the Breaking Bad spin-off’s first season will last for just 10 episodes, the second season will be given a 13-episode order.

In some less exciting news, the premiere of season one has been pushed back from November to early 2015. The second season will air in early 2016.

“Production on Better Call Saul is underway and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date. We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series and today we happily confirm that our initial Saul order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes,” said AMC president Charlie Collier (via THR). “When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of Breaking Bad, there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves. We have a strong history with Vince [Gilligan], Peter [Gould], Bob [Odenkirk], the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on Saul and all share a focus on making it a true television event.
