Megan Hilty hits the red carpet with her husband Brian Gallagher while attending Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour On Broadway Opening Night Celebration held at the Lyric Theatre on Wednesday (May 25) in New York City.

The happy couple were joined at the event by Chicago Med‘s Colin Donnell and his wife Patti Murin, David Burtka, Clay Aiken, Brooke Shields, Christopher J. Hanke, Ivanka Trump and Gretchen Mol.

Jessica Sanchez belts out an amazing rendition of “The Prayer” during American Idol‘s series finale on Thursday (April 7).

The 20-year-old season 11 runner-up was joined by prior contestants for a medley of songs, which was opened by Katharine McPhee and Casey James singing Lady Antebellum‘s “Need You Now”.

Other performers, who Harry Connick Jr. called “some of the best singers American Idol has discovered,” included Carly Smithson, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard and Amber Holcomb.

Clay Aiken is not a fan of the show that made him famous.

The 37-year-old singer, who placed second in season two of American Idol, took to Twitter to complain about the final season premiere.

“Well… now I know why the ratings are down,” Clay tweeted. “Oh good Lord… those boring ass responses from the judges!? Where is Simon [Cowell] when you need him!? That guy need a hook to pull him off stage.”

He added “It’s VERY clear now that @SimonCowell was the reason @AmericanIdol was a hit. I’ve watched root canals more entertaining than these judges.”

Jenna Ushkowitz and Jonathan Groff hit the carpet at the Broadway opening night celebration of Spring Awakening held at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday (September 27) in New York City.

The former Glee co-stars were joined at the event by Debra Messing, Mamie Gummer, Kelly Ripa, Brooke Shields, Clay Aiken, SNL‘s Taran Killam, Nolan Gerard Funk, T.R. Knight, Lance Bass and his love Michael Turchin, Peter Gallagher (whose daughter Kathryn is in the show!), Rosie O’Donnell and her son Blake, and Kathy Najimy with her husband Dan Finnerty.

The premiere of American Idol season 14 is happening TONIGHT (January 7) at 8/7c on Fox and in celebration, we are taking a look back at the top ten best selling contestants of all time.

As you may have predicted, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood rank above everyone else, but you may be surprised at how many albums some of the non-winners have sold!

This year, returning judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. are hoping to find an artist that will take a place among the ranks of this list. We’ll have to follow along closely over the next five months to see who comes out victorious.

Last month, the show released a mysterious video with the voices of this year’s top 24 contestants, though we aren’t able to see any of their faces.

Clay Aiken is all smiles while heading to the polling station to place his vote in the midterm elections on Tuesday (November 4) in Cary, N.C.

The 35-year-old former American Idol contestant was in the running as a Democrat for a House seat in North Carolina, but he lost to incumbent Renee Ellmers 57% to 43% with 69% of the vote counted, according to Variety.

Clay was an underdog as he was running in a district that leans Republican and he tried to distance himself from his celebrity and focus on local issues, though his opponent tried to dismiss his candidacy because of his connections to showbiz.

Clay Aiken has just voiced his strong opinion on the celebrity nude photo scandal!

“Anybody who takes inappropriate pictures of themselves deserves exactly what they get,” the 35-year-old singer and politician shared to the Washington Post.

He added, “Of course whoever [stole and released the photos] should be hogtied…And it’s unfortunate that we don’t have Internet security right now or the laws in place to protect people from pirating that stuff.”
