John Stamos Admits He Was 'Disappointed' the Olsen Twins Didn't Return for 'Fuller House'

John Stamos is talking the Olsen twins.

On Thursday (April 15), the 57-year-old actor appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and during the interview, John was asked by a fan if he was surprised Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen decided not to return for Fuller House.

“We were disappointed, but we understood,” John admitted.

The 34-year-old actresses turned fashion designers rose to fame playing Michelle Tanner on the original Full House back in the ’90s.

When Netflix announced that they were doing Fuller House, Mary-Kate and Ashley were the only two original stars that decided not to come back, as they have put acting behind them to focus on their extremely successful fashion line The Row.

Over the course of the show’s five seasons, the Fuller House cast often poked fun at the Olsen twins’ decision not to come back.

“I remember [costar Lori Loughlin] saying to me, ‘They won like 2 or 3 CFDA Awards, that’s like winning 2 or 3 Oscars. If you won 3 Oscars, would you come back and do this?’ I was like, ‘Eh, maybe not!’” John added.

During another recent interview, John explained how sobriety helped him to decide to settle down and start a family.

'Fuller House' Makes One Last Reference To Olsen Twins' Michelle In Final Season

Fuller House couldn’t wrap up their final episodes without one final Michelle joke.

The show, which reunited the original Full House cast except for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, poked some fun one last time at the twins who didn’t return for the Netflix revival of the once hit ABC series.

In the scene, DJ, Stephanie and Kimmy are looking through old items in the attic when Kimmy comes across Michelle’s old bike that she once thought was stolen.

“How long are you going to keep Michelle’s bike?” Kimmy asks the sisters. “If she hasn’t come for it by now…[turns to the audience] she’s not coming.”

Andrea Barber opened up about the joke with TV Line, saying, “Michelle gets at least one little poke per season, so we had to do it one last time.”

“It’s not meant to be mean, obviously. It’s all good-natured, in good spirits. We poke fun at everybody,” she added.

If you missed all the jokes about Michelle, the show first joked about her absence in 2016. The show also spoke about a wild theory about Michelle’s whereabouts, too.

There was also once a rumor that Mary-Kate and Ashley‘s younger sister, Elizabeth, would take over the role.

'Fuller House' Finally Reveals Where Lori Loughlin's Aunt Becky Has Been

Aunt Becky is getting a status update.

Fuller House addressed the absence of Lori Loughlin, who pleaded guilty in a plea deal amid the nationwide college admissions scandal back in May, with a mention in its latest episode on Tuesday (June 2).

Warning: spoilers ahead!

During the fifteenth episode of the fifth and final season, called “Be Yourself, Free Yourself,” Uncle Jesse, played by John Stamos, mentions her whereabouts at last.

When his daughter Pamela gets bitten at school, he seeks advice from D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) about conducting an investigation during a play date.

“You don’t think that maybe you should run this by Aunt Becky first?” she asks.

“Aunt Becky is in Nebraska helping out her mother. I don’t want to bother her with such a tiny little thing like this,” Uncle Jesse says.

“Right, because she’d tell you not to do what you’re about to do,” she reacts.

“Exactly!” he responds.

Here’s how Lori Loughlin entered her guilty plea deal…

There's a Fan Theory That Full House's Michelle Has Died & It's All Because of This 'Fuller House' Line

Fuller House is airing it’s fifth and final season soon…and a theory is circulating about what may have happened to Michelle, the character played jointly by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Full House.

The Olsen Twins have never appeared on the reboot series, and one line a season five part one episode has some fans raising eyebrows.

At the end of the episode, Danny (Bob Saget) congratulated DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) who are all now happily engaged to Steve (Scott Weinger), Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch) and Fernando (Juan Pablo Di Pace).

Danny then says to Kimmy, DJ, and Stephanie, “It’s so nice to have three daughters again.”

Screenrant is popularizing the theory that, perhaps this means Michelle died, since DJ and Stephanie are his actual daughters, and Kimmy is a close friend of the family. It also may just be a cheeky reference to the fact that the Olsen Twins have never appeared.

WHAT DO YOU THINK about this theory!?

'Fuller House' Dog Cosmo Has Died Due to Complications from Surgery

Cosmo, the beloved dog from the Netflix series Fuller House, has sadly passed away after suffering complications during surgery.

The creators of the show tweeted out a statement to announce the sad news.

“We’re sad to share that the Fullers’ faithful dog Cosmo, who grew up on our set, passed away after complications from surgery. There will never be another quite like our boy. 💛 We’ll miss him forever,” the statement read.

Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram to share the news and she posted her own tribute.

“Our sweet boy Cosmo is now running around in doggie heaven. I imagine he’s playing with Comet 😉 right now. Cosmo has been in Fuller House since the start and we are heartbroken that he passed away during surgery complications. You’ll be so missed love bug ❤️,” she wrote.

The Name of Stephanie's Baby on 'Fuller House' Has Candace Cameron Bure All Emotional!

Jodie Sweetin‘s character Stephanie had a baby in the new season of Fuller House, which just premiered on Netflix, and the child’s name has everyone emotional.. including Candace Cameron Bure!

If you didn’t know, Kimmy was the surrogate for Stephanie and Jimmy.

Stephanie reveals in the new episodes that she named her daughter Danielle Jo… so she can be called DJ just like Candace‘s character! The baby also can be called Danny, just like her grandfather Danny Tanner.

“I ugly cried reading the script the first time,” Candace told TVLine. “I had no idea, so it came as a complete surprise to me. I think Jodie had talked to the writers about it, but I got the script in my inbox and just cried. I thought it was the sweetest thing. I always love names that are kind of boy names, but are also cute for girls, so I loved Danny for her. And the fact that D.J. got a nod as her middle name was awesome.”

“It sounds really cheesy, but we genuinely love this show and love our characters and feel like family,” she added. “So when we’re playing our characters — even though we know we’re just actors reading lines — they feel very real in those emotional moments. These characters feel like they’re part of us, so those emotions were all genuine.”

Does Lori Loughlin, AKA Aunt Becky, Appear on 'Fuller House' Season 5?

Fuller House is back – but Lori Loughlin, who plays Aunt Becky, is not.

The 55-year-old actress, who played the role for four seasons of the Netflix series, is not in Season 5 of the series, which partially launched on Friday (December 6) on the streaming service.

This is due to her alleged involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal, in which she and husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid $500,000 to have their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Gianulli, recruited by the University of Southern California crew team despite not playing the sport. The couple have pled not guilty, and face new charges of alleged conspiracy to commit bribery. They face up to 50 years in prison.

“We wish she could be here because it definitely feels like there’s a hole in our hearts and a hole on our set. But we understand that this is the decision that was made, and we respect it. But she’s always in our hearts forever. Every time we step on stage, she’s in our hearts,” said co-star Andrea Barber to Us Weekly in November.

Lori was fired from Hallmark show When the Heart Calls, and the movie Garage Sale Mysteries upon the news of the scandal.

The 18-episode final season is split into two, with the second half of the season debuting sometime in 2020.
