Samuel L. Jackson suited up for the premiere of Shaft!

The 70-year-old actor hit the red carpet at the event on Monday night (June 10) at AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City.

He was also joined by Richard Roundtree, who starred in the original 1971 film, and newcomer Jessie T. Usher, who is playing Samuel‘s son.

Other cast in attendance included Alexandra Shipp, Regina Hall and Avan Jogia.

The cast also got support from Spike Lee, Cedric the Entertainer, Richard Lawson and Tina Knowles-Lawson.

Stephan James looks handsome in his turtleneck sweater while stepping out for the fourth annual B.L.A.C.K. Ball on Wednesday night (February 20) at Petite Taqueria in Los Angeles.

The evening celebrated black excellence and Stephan hosted alongside Destroyer actor Shamier Anderson.

Some of the other celebs in attendance included Tessa Thompson, Tiffany Haddish, Amandla Stenberg, Kendrick Sampson, RJ Cyler, and Jessie T. Usher.

Stephan had a breakout year with his TV series Homecoming and his movie If Beale Street Could Talk, which is nominated for three Oscars this weekend.

FYI: Stephan is wearing an Etro suit and David Yurman jewelry. Tiffany is wearing a Styland outfit.

The upcoming Tim Story-directed action-comedy is set for release on June 14, and also stars Jessie T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Lauria, Titus Welliver, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Richard Roundtree, the original John Shaft.

Here’s a plot summary: JJ, aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide. Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather duster, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal.

Jessie T. Usher, Samuel L. Jackson, and Richard Roundtree wear matching outfits while filming a scene for the upcoming Shaft movie on Saturday (February 17) in New York City.

The guys are playing three generations of the famous character. Richard starred in the original 1971 film Shaft and its two sequels.

Samuel rebooted the series in 2000 while playing Richard‘s nephew.

Jessie is joining the franchise this time around as Samuel‘s son, “a young cyber expert FBI agent who, despite being estranged from his father, is forced to work with him on a case. It becomes a collision between old school and new school,” according to Deadline.

Samuel L. Jackson and Jessie T. Usher have officially begun production on their upcoming movie Shaft!

The 69-year-old Kong: Skull Island actor and the 25-year-old Survivor’s Remorse star were spotted on set on Tuesday (January 30) outside a mosque in Atlanta.

In Shaft, previously referred to as Son of Shaft, Samuel will reprise the role he played in the John Singleton-directed 2000 reboot of the Gordon Parks-directed 1971 action film.

Jessie will play the son of detective John Shaft, who, “after long being estranged from his father, finds himself teamed up with him. The young man is an FBI agent, a cyber expert, and the partnership with dad is an uneasy collision of old school meets new school,” according to Deadline.

Shaft is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2019.

Get ready to see Chace Crawford in a new TV series!

The 32-year-old actor is set to co-star alongside Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Nathan Mitchell and Erin Moriarty in the straight-to-series Amazon drama The Boys, according to Deadline.

The show is based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and created by Supernatural creator and Timeless co-creator Eric Kripke.

Here’s a plot summary: The Boys is set in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame. It revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.

Antony will play Homelander, leader of the main superhero team, The Seven. Dominique will play Queen Maeve, member of The Seven. Jessie will play The Seven member A-Train, a superhero faster than a speeding train. Chace will play The Seven member The Deep, an aquatic hero. Nathan will play Black Noir, a masked superhero with fighting and Set martial arts skills.

Director Tim Story plans to begin production later this fall.
