Nikki Bella is getting real about her postpartum depression.

During a new episode of her The Bellas Podcast, the 36-year-old reality star admitted she’s been feeling “super depressed” while raising two-month-old son Matteo, as fiance Artem Chigvintsev films Dancing with the Stars.

“I’ve always prided myself that I can fight a lot of things mentally,” Nikki shared. “I’m very strong in that way. Postpartum has knocked me on my ass. This is something that is way different.”

Nikki went on to reveal that she had a “massive” breakdown when she “refused to ask for help” while taking care of her newborn son while also filming the new season of Total Bellas.

“I think [my twin sister], Brie [Bella], was the first person who’s asked me in weeks: ‘How are you doing?’” Nikki said. “I was about to say, ‘Fine,’ and my lips started shaking and I burst into alligator tears. Like, I broke down. Because that was the first time someone asked me in a while how I was doing, and I wasn’t doing OK.”.

After talking with her doctor, Nikki realized that she was starting to “fall into a postpartum depression.”

“I didn’t realize at week seven, you kind of come out of your baby blues and … go two different paths,” Nikki explained. “You go the path of being healthy or you go down the path of being depressed, and that depression path can be a really dark, deep hole. I was starting to feel invisible…It just started to build up. Being alone with Matteo and just feeling lonely and not loved and invisible.”

Nikki said that when Artem comes home from DWTS, he spends time with Matteo, making her feel more alone, until she told him how she felt.

“He’s like ‘At times, I felt like you were starting to hate me,’” Nikki recalled. “He’s like, ‘You could be mean.’ And I’m not gonna lie, I did have moments of being mean. I did have moments when I looked at him and I hated him. It’s true. There were times I’d look at him and I’m like, ‘I think I hate you.’”

Luckily now, the two are communicating more as they raise their son together.

The 36-year-old former wrestler and new mom picked up a few items from her local Whole Foods market while wearing a strapless black dress and matching mask.

Nikki was seen on a phone call while heading back to her car, as she gears up to watch fiance Artem Chigvintsev on the premiere of Dancing With The Stars tonight.

To celebrate the return of the show, which is where she met Artem in season 25, Nikki shared a sweet video of her dancing with Artem.

“Hidden Cam Warning 👀 Mama getting her groove back… postpartum panties out the door, boobies still off limits lol, but everyday feeling more like me… and my Daddy is getting his grove back,” Nikki captioned.

She added, “He hits the ballroom once again tonight on @dancingabc So happy my tiny dancer is back. ❤️ Tune in and vote for him tonight! 💋 #teosdaddy @theartemc.”

Nikki and Artem welcomed their first child, Matteo, in late July.

Nikki Bella is getting real about taking care of her son Matteo.

During a new episode of her “The Bellas” podcast on Tuesday (September 1), the 36-year-old Total Bellas star opened up about taking care of her newborn son as fiance Artem Chigvintsev returns to work on Dancing with the Stars.

“Artem is on Dancing With the Stars and that has left me alone with Matteo and because of COVID, I don’t have any help. It’s just me,” Nikki revealed.

Nikki did add that she does get a “little help” from twin sister Brie Bella and husband Daniel Bryan, who just also welcomed their own son, Buddy, a few weeks ago.

“They’ve been amazing,” Nikki added.

Nikki and 38-year-old DWTS pro welcomed Matteo on July 31. Brie and the 39-year-old wrestler welcomed Buddy on August 1. They are also parents to daughter Birdie, 3.

The twin sisters and new mothers, who gave birth within 24 hours of each other, revealed their bodies on Instagram to showcase their recovery after birth, and they both wore postpartum underwear.

Nikki and her fiance, Artem Chigvintsev, welcomed their newborn baby boy on July 31 and they’re now revealing his name!

Brie and Daniel Bryan welcomed their second child, a son, on August 1. The couple got married back in April of 2014, and are also parents to their 3-year-old daughter Birdie Joe.

Nikki and her fiance, Artem Chigvintsev, welcomed their newborn baby boy on July 31 and they’re now revealing his name!

Nikki took to Instagram to introduce her newborn baby boy, captioning the photo, “Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev 💙 7/31/2020 💙 7 lbs 3 oz 💙 19 3/4 in.” She and Artem welcomed their son one day before Nikki‘s twin sister welcomed her newborn, Buddy Dessert, she revealed to People.

“Artem and I were so not prepared,” Nikki said of her son’s birth “We barely had bags packed. I labored for 22 hours, and I pushed for two hours while wearing a mask because of COVID-19. It was 118 degrees in Phoenix, and our room wouldn’t get colder than 76 degrees, so I was burning hot the whole time. I had two more rounds of pushing [to go] until my doctor said, ‘You’re going to have to have a c-section.’ I said, ‘No, he’s coming out vaginally.’ ”

“I looked at Artem [who was allowed in the room with a mask], and I go, ‘Put on the Lumineers!’ And literally we ‘Hey Ho’-ed and ‘-Ophelia’-ed Matteo into this world,” she said. “I have never pushed so hard in my life. I almost tore off the handlebars!”

Artem Chigvintsev is opening up about his new baby boy with fiance Nikki Bella.

During his Good Morning America interview this morning, where it was announced that he’d be returning to Dancing With The Stars, the 38-year-old dancer revealed how being a new father was going.

“It has been the most incredible feeling and Nicole and I are just obsessed. I just didn’t know that I could have so much love to give. It’s just incredible,” Artem shared, adding that their son, “literally owns us.”

He also joked about being sleep deprived.

“What sleep? Do people really sleep?” he said. “I really feel bad for Nicole, because he’s a really good eater. So he’s been on it.”

Artem and Nikki‘s son was born in July, just a day after Nikki‘s twin, Brie, also delivered her own baby boy. The couple haven’t announced his name yet.

The couple announced his arrival on social media together.

“7/31/2020 please welcome our precious baby boy Chigvintsev 👶 proud of my love @thenikkibella,” Artem sweetly captioned the shot of him and Nikki holding onto the baby’s hand.

Nikki added, “Our baby boy is here and we couldn’t be HAPPIER and more in LOVE! Everyone is safe and healthy.”

Nikki welcomed her first child just a day before twin sister, Brie, welcomed her second child, who was also a boy, with husband Daniel Bryan.

Artem and Nikki first met on the set of Dancing with the Stars before becoming engaged late last year.
