Olivia Wilde, Cynthia Erivo, & More Cover PorterEdit's Women in Hollywood Issue

Reed Morano, Cynthia Erivo, Zazie Beetz, Olivia Wilde, Florence Pugh, and Isabela Moner pose together for the cover of PorterEdit‘s Women in Hollywood portfolio, available now.

Here is what the ladies had to share with the mag:

Olivia on what prevented her from directing before – and why she isn’t done with acting: “Fear. For a long time, I was insecure that I hadn’t been to film school. Then I realized my career was film school, because I was shadowing brilliant directors, seeing different techniques and asking endless questions, and I continue to do that. That’s why I think I have to keep acting, so I can keep learning.”

Cynthia on how Hollywood can better serve women of color: “Start seeing them as full human beings. It’s starting to happen, but we need it to happen faster. I think for a long time we’ve been seen as one-dimensional – there’s the strong woman and the sexy woman, but one woman can be all those things. We see those roles for white women, but it’s still not filtering through quickly enough into roles for black women.”

Florence on the biggest lessons she has learned so far: “Speaking up goes a long way. People respect you for it. I think it’s very easy when you’re coming up in this industry to do anything anyone says because you feel your job might be jeopardized. It’s also scary how quickly you notice the difference in your morals, or what you now think of yourself… I have to remind myself of that, and protect myself more.”

Zazie on how fame has exacerbated her anxiety: “Fame definitely exacerbates anxiety, 100%. After Atlanta, I had the worst anxiety of my life – I’ve never experienced pain like that. [But] I am grateful in a way because it has made me passionate about mental health and letting people know they’re not alone.”

Kristen Wiig Movie Pulls Out of Georgia Due to Anti-Abortion Bill

Kristen Wiig‘s new Lionsgate comedy film has pulled out of Georgia following the anti-abortion bill signing.

The 45-year-old Saturday Night Live star and Annie Mumolo’s Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar has taken this action over the so-called “heartbeat bill,” Time reports.

Amazon’s The Power series has also pulled out of the state in an effort to protect female reproductive rights. Director Reed Morano wrote on Instagram, “Via @time @sisterpicturestv It feels wrong for a reason. And it felt wrong to us to go ahead and make our show and take money/tax credit from a state that is taking this stance on the abortion issue. We just couldn’t do it.”

Additionally, actors like Jason Bateman have also reportedly pledged to leave the state if the bill becomes law, which would take effect on January 1.

Peter Dinklage & Elle Fanning Step Out For 'I Think We're Alone Now' NYC Premiere

Elle Fanning and Peter Dinklage pose with director Reed Morano at the premiere of I Think We’re Alone Now held at the Dolby 88 Theater on Wednesday night (September 12) in New York City.

Producer Fred Berger, and writer Mike Makowsky joined the three on the red carpet for the special screening.

I Think We’re Alone Now centers on Del (Dinklage), who is alone in the world.

After the human race is wiped out, he lives in his small, empty town, content in his solitude and the utopia he’s methodically created for himself — until he is discovered by Grace (Fanning), an interloper whose history and motives are obscure. Worse yet, she wants to stay.

The film opens in select NY and LA theaters on September 14th. The flick is available everywhere on-demand on September 21st.

FYI: Elle wore an Oscar de la Renta suit. Reed wore a Gabriela Hearst dress.
