George Lucas gives photographers the thumbs up while hitting the red carpet with J.J. Abrams at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere held at the Dolby Theatre on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The two Star Wars directors were joined at the event by Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw, Colin Trevorrow, Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Berkoff with their two boys John Owen and Matthew Edward, Kathleen Kennedy and producer Frank Marshall, J.J.‘s wife Katie McGrath, and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger.

J.J. recently opened up on if the pressure of the film is getting to him.

“Sure, but here we are. It’s like I’m standing at the doorway of the airplane door and we’re about to open the door,” J.J. told the LA Times. “Do I hope the parachute opens? Yes. But every time I feel remotely paralyzed by the noise or anticipation or expectation of it, I just look at the work I’ve seen done and I’m just grateful.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens had a huge Hollywood premiere last night (December 14) and over 1,000 people reportedly saw the film.

Celebs packed the venue and shortly after the movie ended, tweets began pouring in with initial (spoiler free) fan reactions.

“The Force has undoubtedly awakened. It’s everything we’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait for the world to see it-keepin my mouth shut til then” Glee‘s Darren Criss wrote on his Twitter account shortly after the film ended.

Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood share a super cute kiss on the red carpet at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The couple was joined by the cast of Dom‘s upcoming ABC Family/Freeform series Shadowhunters – Harry Shum Jr, Katherine McNamara, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, Emeraude Toubia, and Alberto Rosende.

Harry‘s former Glee co-star Darren Criss was also in attendance!

“Looking forward to the @starwars #TheForceAwakens premiere tonight! Can’t wait to see my new friend #BB8 in action!” Kat tweeted that day.

Zach Braff and Donald Faison hit the red carpet together at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The former Scrubs co-stars looked ecstatic to be at the star-studded event and they were even seen holding hands along the carpet.

Other stars in attendance included future Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, Selma‘s David Oyelowo and his family, Grey’s Anatomy‘s Kevin McKidd, X-Men‘s Shawn Ashmore, Bloodline‘s Ben Mendelsohn, Concussion‘s Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Trumbo‘s Alan Tudyk.

Andy Serkis, who has a role in the new Star Wars movie, was also seen on the carpet!

Jaime King, Elizabeth Banks, and Janelle Monae hit the red carpet at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The ladies were just some of the celeb guests at the star-studded event. Other attendees included Scandal co-stars Tony Goldwyn and Darby Stanchfield, Geena Davis, UnREAL‘s Constance Zimmer, singer Bonnie McKee, actress Cody Horn, and model Kelly Rohrbach.

Jaime‘s family friend Austin Swift was also in attendance!

Sofia Vergara hits the red carpet with her new husband Joe Manganiello at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The 43-year-old actress sported two Princess Leia-inspired buns to be a little festive for the special occasion.

Another star who also was inspired by Princess Leia was Maria Menounos, whose hair was in four buns on the back of her head.

Mario Lopez was also seen walking the red carpet at the star-studded event.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt dresses up in costume as Yoda while attending the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The 34-year-old actor sported green face paint, a white robe, and a beanie with green ears sticking out of the sides. He even wore The Grinch pajama pants underneath for some more green!

Other stars who were seen in attendance at the premiere included newly engaged couple Lydia Hearst and Chris Hardwick, Jason Bateman, Cuba Gooding Jr., Patton Oswalt, and Seth Green with his Clare Grant.
