Alessia Cara Teams Up with Juanes on Spanglish Single, 'Querer Mejor' - Watch Video Here!

Alessia Cara makes her Spanish-language debut with Juanes on his Spanglish single, “Querer Mejor“!

The original all-Spanish language track was released back in May, but now comes with the addition of the 22-year-old Grammy-winning songstress.

“I’ve always loved Latin music, so getting to dabble in that realm with such a legend is pretty amazing,” Alessia expressed in the press release. “And getting his stamp of approval on my Spanish pronunciation wasn’t so bad either.”

“The joy she finds in music is contagious,” Juanes added in the statement. “[It] brought even more of a connection in how well our voices naturally fit together on this soulful and uplifting song. I am very proud to be the artist she chose to sing with in Spanish for the first time.”

Alessia Cara and Juanes previously collaborated at the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards, where they performed a bilingual version of Logic’s suicide awareness anthem, “1-800-273-8255.”

During the show, Alessia explained that the song helped her friend to win back his ex.

“It was inspired by a friend’s break up. I know that sounds like a lie, but it really is about a friend! It was the only song I wrote that wasn’t about me,” Alessia explained.

She continued, “Basically my friend was going through a break up and asked me to write a song to help him express himself to his girlfriend…and he played her the song once it was done and now they’re back together!”

FYI: Alessia is wearing head to toe rag & bone for her interview.
