Terry Crews Says Sorry To Gabrielle Union For His Comments About 'AGT's Workplace Controversy

Terry Crews has issued an apology to former judge Gabrielle Union following his comments on the workplace controversy from America’s Got Talent.

Previously, Terry had said that the workplace on set was not “toxic”, contradicting her own statement about the show.

Gabrielle had accused the show of having a toxic culture behind the scenes and there have been allegations of racism and sexism on set.

Now, in a series of tweets, the host publicly apologized to Gabrielle.

“I want to apologize for the comments I made. I realize there are a lot of Black women hurt and let down by what I said and also by what I didn’t say,” Terry started.

He continued on, tagging Gabrielle with his apology, “I want you to know it was never my intention to invalidate your experience— but that is what I did. I apologize. You have been through a lot in this business, and with that I empathize with the struggle toward fairness and equality in the workplace.”

“@itsgabrielleu You are a role model to the entire black community and In my desire to be professionally neutral as your co-worker, I should have at the very least understood you just needed my support.”

Both of the former hosts of the show, Nick Cannon and Tyra Banks, have also spoke about the issue.

Nick Cannon Supports Gabrielle Union In 'AGT' Workplace Controversy

Former host of America’s Got Talent Nick Cannon is sticking by Gabrielle Union‘s side in the show’s workplace controversy.

In a new interview with VLADTV, Nick was asked about his thoughts on the matter, and revealed his idea of what the problem truly is.

“It was some eye-opening events that occurred that really shed light on some cultural insensitivities – ultimately, when it comes to women, when it comes to how the show is produced,” he shared. “I believe, as a producer – I was over at AGT for a damn near decade – you kinda see these things as a giant machine, but if you really take the time to step back, you see some things that are truly not fair… It’s an institutional issue.”

Nick also talked about how current host, Terry Crews, should’ve supported Gabrielle from the start, in the same way others believed him about his sexual assault.

“I love Terry Crews, but it gets to that place… again it’s an institutional thing, so I’m not blaming him. We get excited about the occupation, we get excited to work for the man and we gon’ defend the man cause he gave me a job. It don’t matter what you saw because I stood firmly by him when my former agent accosted him…”

Nick adds, “Especially when it comes to our queens, when it comes to Gabby, I don’t care. Whatever she said, if it happened, I’m rocking with you.”

If you missed it, Terry opened up about the alleged racism on the set of the show, and Gabrielle called him out for it.

“I almost kind of like dipped my toe in and left, so I’m not really immersed in the culture. Like people ask me about Victoria’s Secret, I can wax poetic about that — I was there for 10 years,” she explained.

“What I love about what [Gabrielle] did is she was very vulnerable. I wasn’t super close to it, but I saw some of her tweets. I thought it was maybe beautiful… how she wasn’t speaking in anger, she’s speaking in pain like ‘I’m trying to get through this… and I’m crying.’”

She also praised Gabrielle‘s husband, Dwyane Wade, for supporting her during the ongoing situation.
