Wrongly Convicted Man Archie Williams Stuns With 'America's Got Talent' Performance - Watch!

America’s Got Talent fans are buzzing about Archie Williams.

The singer, who stunned with his performance of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” during the auditions, returned to TV on Tuesday night (August 11) for the quarterfinals of the hit series.

If you didn’t know, Archie was wrongly imprisoned for over three decades. In 1983, at the age of 22, he was convicted of aggravated rape and attempted murder in Louisiana. Fingerprint evidence did not match his own, and witnesses testified that he was at his own home the night of the incident. However, he was sentenced to life in prison at Louisiana State Penitentiary without the possibility of parole.

During the performance, he sang Stevie Wonder‘s “Love’s in Need of Love Today” in front of judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara as well as guest judge Kelly Clarkson at the Universal Studios Hollywood lot amid the pandemic.

For the first time, AGT had a virtual audience featuring audio and video of fans watching live.

“Thank you so much for that, your story is an incredible testimony, it’s powerful. I don’t want your story to overshadow [your singing]. Your tone is so cool. It was incredible to hear such a great storyteller. Those are my favorite kind of singers. You did a really great job,” Kelly said.

“You deserve this more than anyone,” Sofia said.

“I can feel all the pain you went through. It couldn’t be more perfect,” said Heidi.

Kelly Clarkson to Fill In for Simon Cowell on 'America's Got Talent' as He Recovers From Back Surgery

Kelly Clarkson is heading to America’s Got Talent!

The 38-year-old entertainer will be filling in for Simon Cowell this week on the NBC talent show as he recovers from back surgery.

Kelly will be joining fellow judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara on the panel for the live shows on Tuesday and Wednesday (August 11 & 12).

“My friend, Simon Cowell, is doing better now but was in an accident and won’t be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday’s live shows for AGT,” Kelly shared in a statement via TV Line. “But no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler, and hotter is taking his seat! The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson 😜 You’re welcome in advance!”

Over the weekend, Simon broke his back after falling off his new electric bike while taking it for a ride around his courtyard at his Malibu home. He was then rushed to the hospital where he underwent a nearly six-hour surgery.

Simon recently thanked fans for their love and support as he recovers.

America’s Got Talent airs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm ET on NBC.

Gabrielle Union Slams AGT's Terry Crews Again, He Apologizes for Third Time

Gabrielle Union is slamming her former America’s Got Talent co-star Terry Crews once again.

The actress and former AGT judge was interviewed on the Spotify podcast Jemele Hill Is Unbothered and she was asked about Terry‘s recent criticisms of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Terry recently received backlash over a tweet he wrote about “black supremacy.” A few weeks later he tweeted, “If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure [black lives matter] doesn’t morph into [black lives better.]” He then went on CNN and debated the purpose of the movement.

Earlier this year, Terry made comments about Gabrielle‘s firing from AGT and he received a ton of backlash, including some from her.

In the new podcast interview, Gabrielle reflected on everything that has happened with Terry.

She said, “People hit me all day long and are like, what’s happening? And the only thing I know for sure is that Terry Crews gets three checks from NBC. So, I don’t know if being worried about job stability — which listen, we all know that if you speak up about racism and white supremacy, you absolutely can be shown the door. I don’t know if that’s the motivation.”

“Based on his recent actions, do you really think Terry Crews was an ally, was helpful, was a sounding board? I think Terry Crews is showing us who he is and what he does during times of adversity and it’s not solidarity,” she added.

After Gabrielle made claims of a toxic environment behind the scenes at AGT, NBC investigated the claims and decided that she wasn’t the victim of discrimination.

“At the end of the day, the work that I am doing to make sure that NBC is a more fair and equitable place of employment will benefit you [Crews] as well,” Gabrielle said (via Deadline). “So it’s OK to eat your cereal and let me do my thing and get out of the way. If you’re not going to help, then get out of the way. If you don’t feel financially comfortable, or spiritually comfortable or you flat out disagree, but at the end of the day he will benefit from a safer, more equitable workplace from what I stuck my neck out to do and got fired for, you know? Instead of actively working against progress.”

This Is The Most Astonishing 'America's Got Talent' Trick Simon Cowell Ever Saw - Watch!

Simon Cowell had his mind blown on America’s Got Talent!

The talent show returned on Tuesday night (July 28) for the first – and only – Judge Cuts round.

Because of the pandemic restrictions, the contestants weren’t able to perform for the judges in person. However, that didn’t stop magician Max Major from delivering a jaw dropping trick!

For the trick, Max Major “looked inside” Simon‘s mind, but first showed a sealed envelope in which he’d made a “prediction” before asking him a number of personal questions.

For the questions, Max Major asked Simon what personality trait he admires the most in another person, his most prized possession, and his most vivid memory from childhood.

While asking him the questions, Max Major had Simon pair a face-down photo with a face-up photo of his co-stars, seemingly at random.

Max Major
then flipped over all the face-down cards and revealed that Simon had matched up every single picture with its identical photo perfectly, without being able to see them at all.

He then opened the envelope and all the answers Simon had given were written down, leaving Simon stunned beyond belief!

“To be clear, this was not planned,” Simon said to his fellow judges. “I have to say this, because this one of the most astonishing things I’ve ever seen… I mean, it was seriously incredible… How the hell did he do that?”

Gabrielle Union Says 'More Changes Are Needed' After NBC Releases New Plans to Prevent Workplace Harassment

Gabrielle Union is reacting to NBC’s new workplace harassment prevention plans.

Universal TV and Streaming chairman Mark Lazarus issued a memo to employees on Tuesday (July 7) where he explained that the company is upping it’s efforts to create a safe working environment where employees feel safe to come forward with issues of misconduct, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Shortly after the memo was released, Gabrielle reacted to it, saying that it’s a step in the right direction, but “more changes are needed” to prevent further cases like hers.

Gabrielle appeared as a judge on season 14 of America’s Got Talent. In November 2019, she alleged that there was a racist and “toxic” work culture on set of the show.

“Great start by NBC to recognize the need to not turn away & ignore racial & gender discrimination on programs like #AGT,” Gabrielle tweeted. “More changes are needed however like stopping executives from intimidating talent from sharing their experience of racism in their own workplace investigations.”

Back in June, Gabrielle filed a discrimination complaint against America’s Got Talent producers. In the complaint, Gabrielle accused NBC exec Paul Telegdy of threatening her for speaking out against racism on set. NBC is denying Gabrielle‘s claim.
