The stars of the new musical New York New York sealed their performance with a kiss at the 2023 Tony Awards!

Anna Uzele and Colton Ryan shared a passionate kiss at the end of their performance on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

It was all for the show though, as they both have partners in real life!

Colton is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his work in the show, which is also up for Best Musical.

Here is the show’s synopsis: “It is 1946, the war is over, and a resurgent New York is beginning to rebuild. As steel beams swing overhead, a collection of artists has dreams as big and diverse as the city itself. Among them is New York native Jimmy Doyle, a brilliant but disillusioned musician looking for his “major chord” in life: music, money, love. The odds are against him getting all three until he meets Francine Evans, a young singer just off the bus from Philly, who is destined for greatness. If they can make it there, they can make it anywhere.”

Annaleigh Ashford just won one of the most prestigious awards in the Broadway community!

The Tony-winning actress picked up the Distinguished Performance Award during the 2023 Drama League Awards on Friday afternoon (May 19) at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Annaleigh beat out 46 other nominees to be the sole performer to be recognized by the organization this year. She won the award for her work as Mrs. Lovett in the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd.

Some Like It Hot won the award for Outstanding Production of a Musical, Into the Woods won Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Leopoldstadt won Outstanding Production of a Play, and A Doll’s House won Outstanding Revival of a Play.

The stars of the new Broadway musical New York, New York are celebrating the official opening night performance!

Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele glammed up for their opening night party on Wednesday (April 26) in New York City.

Colton was joined by fiancee Adrian Grace Bumpas and Anna was joined by husband Glenn Vasaturo.

“I consider this city to be a second chance at life,” Anna told Variety on opening night. “I came from a place that I don’t really want to return to, and this city offered me a new shot. Seeing the skyline right now like this, I could weep at the sight of it, because it offered me something I haven’t found anywhere else. What we sing about in the show, about coming to New York to find music, money and love, almost seems possible in moments like this.”

The full cast for the highly anticipated Broadway musical New York, New York has been announced and there’s a gorgeous trailer out now too!

The new musical will feature music by the legendary duo John Kander and Fred Ebb along with additional lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

It was previously announced that Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele will lead the show as Jimmy Doyle and Francine Evans. Now the rest of the cast has been revealed.

Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling are hitting the red carpet!

The two actress joined young co-star Colin O’Brien at the premiere of their upcoming Apple TV+ series Dear Edward on Tuesday night (January 31) at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Jenna Qureshi, Maxwell Jenkins, Anna Uzele, Brittany S. Hall, Eva Ariel Binder, Idris DeBrand, Amy Forsyth, Audrey Corsa, Ivan Shaw, Carter Hudson, and Dario Ladani Sanchez.

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the highly anticipated series Dear Edward, which is the new show from Friday Night Lights creator Jason Katims.

Connie Britton stars in the new series and it marks her reunion with Jason after working together on the beloved football drama.

Dear Edward tells the story of Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien), a 12-year-old boy who survives a devastating commercial plane crash that kills every other passenger on the flight, including his family. As Edward and a diverse ensemble of others affected by the tragedy try to make sense of life after the crash, unexpected friendships, romances and communities are formed.

Also starring in the series are Taylor Schilling, Amy Forsyth, Eva Ariel Binder, Brittany S. Hall, Idris Debrand, Carter Hudson, Maxwell Jenkins, Jenna Qureshi, Audrey Corsa, Anna Uzele, Ivan Shaw and Dario Ladani Sanchez.

The show will make its global debut with the first three episodes of its 10-episode first season on Friday, February 3 followed by one new episode weekly every Friday through March 24.

The brand new Kander & Ebb musical New York, New York is one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season and the lead casting was just announced!

Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele will lead the new show, which will featured music by the legendary duo John Kander and Fred Ebb along with additional lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The musical is inspired by the classic MGM film of the same name. Here’s the synopsis: “It is 1946, the war is over, and a resurgent New York is beginning to rebuild. As steel beams swing overhead, a collection of artists has dreams as big and diverse as the city itself. Among them is Francine Evans, a young singer just off the bus from Philly, who is destined for greatness. At least, until she encounters New York native Jimmy Doyle, a brilliant but disillusioned musician looking for his ‘major chord’ in life: music, money, love. The odds of both achieving all three are slim. But if they can make it there, they can make it anywhere. New York, New York is a spectacular show for a singular city. With a unique blend of dazzling new songs and big band classics (‘New York, New York,’ ‘But The World Goes ‘Round’), this jubilant new musical is destined to become the talk of the town.”

Colton is best known for starring in TV shows like Hulu’s The Girl from Plainville and Apple TV+’s Little Voice. He also was the understudy for the title role in Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen and then played Connor in the movie version. He also starred in the Broadway musical Girl From the North Country.

Anna most recently originated the role of Catherine Parr in Broadway’s Six and stared in the Tony-winning revival of Once on This Island. She’ll soon be seen in the Apple TV+ series Dear Edward.

Tickets for the musical are on sale now. Performances begin on March 24 ahead of an official opening on April 26.
