Matt Damon Explains How Ben Affleck Saved Him From Getting Beat Up in High School (Video)

Matt Damon joined Conan on Monday night (November 4) and recalled the the last fight he’d been in, and how his longtime friend Ben Affleck came to his rescue.

According to the 49-year-old Jason Bourne actor, the trouble started when he and a group of neighborhood kids went to play football on Cambridge Common during a snow day in the mid ’80s. At that point, Damon and Affleck were both students at Cambridge Rindge & Latin.

“I mouthed off to this kid that I knew, but he was like your [Conan’s] height, like 6-foot-6, and I might have been 5-3 at the time, and I said something,” Damon said. “I’d scored on him or something, and I don’t know, I said something but he came for me. And it was like this mountain of a guy came at me and I was like, ‘Oh man.’ So before I knew it, it was like I was on the ground, he was above me, and I was like, ‘This is gonna be bad.’”

“It was right then that little 5-foot-2 Ben Affleck tackled this dude off of me, like out of nowhere,” Damon said. “I was, like, a junior and he was, like, a freshman, and he tackled this kid off of me, literally at the risk of his own life.”

“But I remember that was a big moment,” Damon concluded, “going like, ‘This guy, he will put himself in a really bad spot for me.’ Like, ‘This is a good friend to have.’”

Matt Damon Explains His & Tom Cruise's Different Approaches to Dangerous Stunts (Video)

Matt Damon is sharing a funny conversation he once had with Tom Cruise!

The 49-year-old Jason Bourne actor opened up during his appearance on Conan airing on Tuesday (November 5).

“I had dinner with Tom Cruise years ago,” Matt told host Conan O’Brien. “I kinda cornered him and I said, ‘Hey, tell me about this [a stunt he did], like I’m afraid of heights. How did you do this thing?’”

Matt continued, “And he goes, ‘Oh, you know … I’ve been dreaming of this shot for 15 years, this sequence, and finally I had a chance to do it.’ And I go, ‘So how did it come to pass?’ And he goes, ‘OK, so I go to the safety guy … the safety guy says, ‘You can’t do that. That’s too dangerous.’ And he goes… ‘So I get another safety guy.’”

“And I looked at him and I’m like, ‘I’m tapping out, you win, you are the best,’” Matt Damon added. “My reaction is, ‘Too bad we can’t do that sequence, it would have been really cool.’ His reaction is, ‘No, we’re getting another safety guy.’”

Paul Rudd Pulls Same Prank on Conan O'Brien Since 2004 While Promoting 'Living With Yourself' - Watch!

Paul Rudd is up to his old tricks again!

The 50-year-old Living With Yourself actor made an appearance on Conan on Tuesday (October 22).

If you didn’t know, Paul has pulled the same prank on Conan since 2004: he sets up the clip for his latest project very seriously, and instead of the project he’s promoting, it’s a clip from the 1998 box office flop and E.T. knock-off Mac & Me.

He first played the prank while promoting the series finale of Friends — and he hasn’t stopped ever since!

Conan O'Brien Gets Apology From Kumail Nanjiani After His Last Minute 'Conan' Cancellation

Kumail Nanjiani derailed Conan O’Brien‘s talk show last night (July 11) with a last minute cancellation.

Conan‘s show only offers one celebrity guest per episode, and when Kumail cancelled a half hour before, they didn’t have time to get a new guest. Kumail got held up shooting his HBO show Silicon Valley.

Conan explained the entire situation to the audience and ended up interviewing his personal assistant of 10 years, Sona Movsesian.

“.@ConanOBrien is my comedy hero. Him and @AndyRichter are the reason I started comedy. So this clip is something I would love if it was about anybody other than me. But it’s about me, so I’m truly mortified,” Kumail tweeted on Friday (July 12).

Conan O’Brien (jokingly) got some revenge on Kumail, who was going to be on the show to promote his upcoming movie, Stuber. Instead of airing a clip from Stuber, Conan decided to air a clip from Stuber‘s box office competition, The Lion King!
