Dave Bautista Tried to Get Cast as This Villain in the Upcoming 'The Batman'

Dave Bautista really wanted a role in the upcoming The Batman!

On Friday (July 31), the 51-year-old Stuber actor and retired WWE fighter shut down rumors that he would be playing Bane in the movie directed by Matt Reeves, with Robert Pattinson playing the Caped Crusader.

“I just read an article speculating that @DaveBautista ma be, should be, could be playing Bane in the new #Batman movie with Robert Pattinson. Please, DC movies… make it happen,” a fan tweeted.

Dave then tweeted back, “Unfortunately it’s not. Tried my best 🤷🏻‍♂️”

The cast for The Batman also includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Peter Sarsgaard in a not-yet-known role.

Tom Hardy played Bane in 2012′s The Dark Knight Rises directed by Christopher Nolan.

The Batman is currently set for release on ‎October 1, 2021.

Dave Bautista's 'My Spy' Pushed Back from March 13 Opening

Dave Bautista‘s upcoming movie My Spy has been pushed back from its March 13 opening date, according to Deadline.

The reason for the date change is indirectly related to Coronavirus. The James Bond movie No Time to Die was going to open on April 10, but it was pushed back to November due to the virus outbreak.

The animated movie Trolls World Tour then was pushed forward one week from April 17 to April 10 to take advantage of the open release date.

Now, My Spy is taking that April 17 date and it is going to have less competition at the box office than it would next weekend.

Kumail Nanjiani & Dave Bautista Buddy Up at 'Stuber' Premiere

Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista are all smiles on the red carpet at the premiere of Stuber on Wednesday night (July 10) at the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The co-stars looked sharp in suits as they premiered their new action-comedy series. Joining Kumail on the carpet was wife Emily V. Gordon.

Fellow cast members at the premiere included Betty Gilpin, Natalie Morales, Jimmy Tatro, Mira Sorvino and husband Christopher Backus, along with Steve Howey with wife Sarah Shahi and 10-year-old son William Wolf.

Other guests at the premiere included The Mindy Project actor Ike Barinholtz, Happy Endings actor Adam Pally, and Veep actor Sam Richardson.

Sandra Bullock Calls for Equal Pay for U.S. Women's Soccer Team at ESPYS 2019

Sandra Bullock is all smiles on stage as she presents the U.S. women’s soccer team with the Best Team Award at the 2019 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 10) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

While she was on stage, the 54-year-old actress congratulated the team on their historic World Cup win and pledged to help the ladies on their ongoing fight for equal pay.

“All those in favor of equal pay, say I,” Sandra said which led to a roar of “Equal Pay!” from the audience.

Other stars hitting the stage to present awards included Christina Hendricks, Eric Dane, Stuber co-stars Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista, along with Kobe Bryant.

Avengers' Dave Bautista Trashes the 'Fast & Furious' Movies

Dave Bautista is clearly not a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise and don’t expect him to ever appear in those movies.

The 50-year-old actor got his big break while playing Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy and he has appeared in several Marvel movies since then. His upcoming movie Stuber hits theaters in July.

When a fan suggested that Dave play the villain in a Fast & Furious spinoff, he replied with his opinion.

“🤢…..thank you for your consideration…🤮,” Dave replied with the vomiting emojis. He added in hashtag format, “I’d rather do good films.”

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, the first spin-off in the franchise, hits theaters in August.
