'Fate of the Furious' Tops Box Office, Hits $900 Million Globally

The Fate of the Furious continues its box office reign with a $38.7 million gross this weekend!

According to THR, the latest film in the franchise – starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, and more – now has a 10-day domestic total of $163.6 million and $908.4 million globally!

Taking the second spot was the Alec Baldwin animated flick Boss Baby, which earned $12.3 million for a domestic total of $137 million.

Coming in at No. 3 was Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, bringing in an additional $10 million for a global total of $1.1 billion so far.

Rounding out the top five were Born in China and Going in Style, which brought in $5.1 million and $5 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Katherine Heigl‘s new thriller Unforgettable debuted to a $4.8 million.

The Promise, starring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac, opened to $4.1 million.

Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland‘s film The Lost City of Z expanded to 614 theaters and made $2.1 million.

Jason Statham & Dwayne Johnson Might Get a 'Fast & Furious' Spinoff Movie!

After the mega-success of The Fate of the Furious during opening weekend, it’s a no-brainer that Universal is pursuing more movies in the franchise!

A spinoff film featuring Jason Statham‘s character Deckard Shaw and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson‘s character Luke Hobbs is reportedly in the works, according to Deadline.

Screenwriter Chris Morgan is working on the script and the film might possibly be made while the ninth installment of the franchise is in the process of being planned.

Dwayne joined the franchise in Fast Five while Jason joined in Fast & Furious 6. In the latest film, they faced off together in an intense prison fight scene, but later worked together to stop Charlize Theron‘s villainous character Cipher.

'Fate of the Furious' Debuts to $100.2 Million, Breaks Records

The Fate of the Furious topped this weekend’s box office with a whopping $100.2 million debut!

According to THR, the latest film in the franchise – starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, and more – brought in $432.2 million overseas for a $532.5 million global gross, which will likely surpass Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($529 million) for the biggest global opening of all time.

Coming in at No. 2 was the Alec Baldwin animated flick Boss Baby, which continued to impress with an additional $15.5 million for $116.5 million so far.

Taking the third spot was Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, which earned $13.5 million for a domestic total of $454.7 million and $1.043 billion worldwide.

Rounding out the top five were Smurfs: The Lost Village and Going in Style, which brought in 6.5 million and $6.4 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, at the specialty box office, Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland‘s film The Lost City of Z opened to $112,633 from four theaters in New York and Los Angeles for a location average of $28,158.

The soundtrack for the new film The Fate of the Furious has officially been released and you can listen to all of the songs here!

The new set isn’t actually being billed as a soundtrack and is instead called an album.

The album features 14 songs including new tracks from Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Pitbull, Camila Cabello, G-Eazy, Kehlani, and more.

'Going In Style' Spoofs 'Fast & Furious' With New Movie Posters

The new movie Going in Style is going to face some fierce competition at the box office this weekend from the new movie The Fate of the Furious, and now Warner Bros. is spoofing the franchise with new posters.

Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin are featured on posters designed in the style of the Fast and Furious franchise. They even were given the new tagline, “2 Slow. 2 Grumpy.”

The three Oscar winners team up as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty. Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.
