Eiza Gonzalez is joining the Fast & Furious franchise!

The 28-year-old Baby Driver actress has landed a role in the upcoming spinoff movie Hobbs and Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

The upcoming spinoff will be focus “Luke Hobbs (Dwayne), the Diplomatic Security Service agent, and Deckard Shaw (Jason), an assassin character who was one of the primary bad guys in the franchise before being redeemed and joining the motley crew of antiheroes that make up the roll call,” THR reports.

Eiza confirmed the news on Instagram writing, “Buckle up boys! It’s gonna be a bumpy ride!!”

is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.

Hillary Clinton is weighing in on a very controversial topic.

While stopping by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 70-year-old former Secretary of State played a game of “Just One Question” – where Late Show staff members ask the guest one question.

One staff member, asked Hillary a very interesting – is she Team Dwayne Johnson or Team Vin Diesel in The Fast & The Furious franchise?

“Boy, what a tough question,” Hillary said. “The Fast and the Furious movies prove that both are masters of high-octane action.”

“While The Rock is an indispensable part of the later films, Vin Diesel is really the heart and the center of the Toretto family,” Hillary continued. “In the end, everyone is better off when they can look past what divides them and work together. You know, I like to say, ‘Stronger Together.’”

“Stronger Together” was Hillary‘s campaign slogan during her 2016 run for president.

An Animated 'Fast & Furious' Series Is Coming to Netflix!

Get ready to see the Fast & Furious series get animated!

The upcoming series, developed with DreamWorks, has been ordered at Netflix, Variety confirmed on Monday (April 23).

Here’s plot summary for the upcoming show: teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.

“We are excited to extend and expand our successful relationship with Netflix by not only delivering more high-quality DreamWorks programming, but connecting fans of Universal films with fascinating new stories,” said Margie Cohn, president of DreamWorks Animation Television.

Meanwhile, the ninth and tenth installments of Fast & Furious hit theaters in April 2020 and April 2021.

Dwayne Johnson Confirms 'Fast & Furious' Spinoff in Letter to Fans

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that he will return to the big screen as Hobbs in an upcoming Fast & Furious spinoff alongside Jason Statham as Shaw.

“Daddy’s gotta go back to work ~ Hobbs,” the 45-year-old actor wrote on Instagram along with a clip teasing the release date of July 2019.

The post comes days after Tyrese Gibson slammed The Rock for allegedly being the reason for Fast & Furious 9 getting postponed.

“Pumped to expand and build out the FAST & FURIOUS universe in a cool, exciting way with our @sevenbucksprod, writer/producer Chris Morgan, producer Hiram Garcia and lead producer and my bigger twin, Neil Moritz,” Dwayne wrote. “Thank you UNIVERSAL STUDIOS for being tremendous partners who see the big picture and for coming to us years ago with this spinoff idea. Huge shout to my brother, Jason Statham for the trust and wanting to create and deliver something fresh and bad ass for the fans.”

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for this franchise that I’ve enjoyed droppin’ blood and sweat in over the years and my vision is to create greater opportunities for not only my fellow FF cast mates, but for other amazing actors as well who want to be a part of something new and cool,” he added. “I want to use my spinoff platform to create new characters that fans will ultimately love to have fun with in multiple chapters and platforms. Film, TV, Digital, Virtual Reality etc.. the more opportunities we can create the better for the fans. Smart business.”

Tyrese Gibson Slams Dwayne Johnson for 'Fast & Furious 9' Getting Postponed

Tyrese Gibson is pointing the finger at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for the Fast & Furious film getting delayed for his own spinoff film.

The 38-year-old actor – who’s starred in four Fast & Furious films – took to Instagram to blame the 45-year-old Baywatch actor for getting the ninth installment pushed back for his and Jason Statham‘s spinoff film.

“#PSA Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU – And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post – Gn folks see you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah….. it’s about #TeamDewayne #3yrs will it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch? Guys guys just relax I’m just a passionate film critic,” Tyrese wrote.

Tyrese also shared another post with the original cast of Fast & Furious – including Paul Walker and Vin Diesel – to blame Dwayne for “breaking up the family.”

“You guys are just amazing you really broke up the #FastFamily I tried to warn you guys… You thought I was hating…… I was simply fighting to keep the family together what makes us great is when you see us all TOGETHER we don’t fly solo,” Tyrese wrote.

Dwayne hasn’t responded to Tyrese‘s comments yet.
