Joey Chestnut Wins Hot Dog Eating Contest, Proposes to Girlfriend on Live TV!

Joey Chestnut holds up his victory belt while getting weighed in the day before the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on Thursday (July 3) at City Hall in New York City.

The next day, the 30-year-old reigning champ won the competition for the eighth year in a row, but that probably wasn’t the highlight of his day.

Before the competition began, Joey popped the question to his girlfriend Neslie Ricasa on live TV while she was being interviewed by ESPN!

“These have been the best three years of my life and I can’t live without you. You make me better. Will you marry me?” Joey said before she said “yes” into the microphone.

FYI: Joey ate 61 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the competition. That equates to 23,790 calories, 1,189.5 grams of fat, 60,390 milligrams of sodium, 2,245 grams of carbohydrates and 793 grams of protein!

Joey Chestnut Breaks Hot Dog Record at Nathan's Competition

Joey Chestnut is once again the hot dog eating champ after breaking his own record by eating 69 franks in ten minutes during the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Competition on Thursday (July 4) at Coney Island in New York City.

The 29-year-old competitive eater took home the $10,000 grand prize and a mustard-yellow championship belt for coming in first place. The person who came in second place only ate 51 hot dogs!

Joey‘s previous record was 68 hot dogs and last year he ate 62 hot dogs to win the prize.
