Kelly Clarkson Sings a 'Hamilton' Cover for Kellyoke - Watch Now!

Kelly Clarkson is celebrating the release of the Hamilton movie by performing a cover of one of the songs from the musical!

The 38-year-old singer performed her version of “It’s Quiet Uptown” as the Kellyoke selection on the Thursday (July 2) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Every day on her show, Kelly performs a cover of a different song and she’s even done some of her own hits.

Kelly previously covered “It’s Quiet Uptown” for The Hamilton Mixtape album, which was released in 2016. On the album, various artists put their own spin on nearly all of the songs from the musical. For her most recent concert tour, Kelly even performed the song live every night!

This past weekend was a big moment for Kelly as she won a Daytime Emmy Award for her talk show. After winning the award, Kelly took to Twitter to thank some important people and lots of fans were surprised by one of the people she decided to thank.

Kelly Clarkson is halfway to an EGOT after winning a Daytime Emmy for hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show!

The 38-year-old singer won the award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for the first season of her talk show.

“OH MY GOSH!!!!!! What is happening?!!!! This is amazing!!! Thank y’all so much!!! And a MAJOR thank you to my entire crew that really is the reason I won!!! I can’t wait to celebrate with our whole crew when humans can congregate again!! This calls for a PARTY!!!!” Kelly wrote on Twitter after winning the award.

“I could never have achieved this without my #hometeam so THANK YOU for taking such great care of my babies when I can’t,” Kelly added. She concluded her thank yous by saying, “Thank you so much to @BBlackstock for believing in me & convincing me to do @KellyClarksonTV show and @lifeofT for being the greatest friend/assistant.”

Fans are surprised to see Kelly thanking her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock as she just filed for divorce from him two weeks ago.

Kelly was virtually joined by her band and backing singers amid the ongoing global health crisis, and they all sounded incredible together while taking on the 1999 song.

Kelly and another star recently opened up about how therapy has helped to move past trauma.

“You think you’re past it, and although you know the situation and think you figured it out, you just don’t realize how much PTSD comes into play when something triggers you like that,” she said. See what else she said…

Chelsea Handler and Kelly Clarkson are getting candid about their mental health.

The 45-year-old comedian and host made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday (June 24).

Chelsea spoke about her experiences going to therapy for the first time in her life following the 2016 election.

“I had a lot of anger and I had a lot of rage about [Trump] being elected,” she admitted, saying she went on to explore why she was so angry.

Chelsea then spoke about how it helped her overcome childhood trauma, and Kelly related to that.

“I actually 100% know and go to therapy…you think you’re past it, and although you know the situation and think you figured it out, you just don’t realize how much PTSD comes into play when something triggers you like that,” Kelly said.

Kelly recently filed for divorce after 7 years of marriage to Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson is belting out an Etta James classic for her Kellyoke pick on Juneteenth!

The 38-year-old singer performed “I’d Rather Go Blind” on Friday (June 19) on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The caption on the YouTube video says that “Kelly chose this song by a prominent black recording artist in recognition of Juneteenth.”

On Kelly‘s talk show, she covers a different song every day and usually has audience members pick the songs. Now that she doesn’t have an audience during at-home episodes, she is picking the songs and this one definitely had special meaning.

The American Idol winner and the High School Musical alum are among the celebrities to get a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 2021, the New York Times reported Thursday (June 18).

Benedict Cumberbatch, Shia LaBeouf, Missy Elliott and “American Pie” singer-songwriter Don McLean are also among the 35 stars of film, television and music that were announced for the honor by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

Other stars set to receive the honor next year are late opera singer Luciano Pavarotti and “Fences” playwright August Wilson, who will be given stars posthumously.

All star unveiling ceremonies were postponed amid the pandemic in mid-March. Six ceremonies will be rescheduled for a later date as a result.
