The announcement comes less than two months after its season one premiere on Peacock.

The series is a sequel to the 1990s teen comedy featuring several original cast members.

“I’m thrilled that Saved by the Bell has been renewed. I’ve been blown away by all the love for the show and can’t wait to go back and make more episodes. Hopefully we stay on Peacock for many more seasons, and then in 30 years, somebody does a reboot of our reboot and invents the threeboot,” says showrunner and executive producer Tracey Wigfield.

Here’s show summary: “In the new Saved by the Bell, Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), now governor of California, gets into political trouble for closing too many underfunded high schools and proposes sending affected students to some of the more affluent schools — including his alma mater, Bayside. An influx of new students gives the privileged kids of Bayside a needed dose of reality.”

The cast includes Haskiri Velazquez, Josie Totah, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Mitchell Hoog, Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden and John Michael Higgins. Original cast members Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Mario Lopez are also regulars, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar recurs.

Tiffani Thiessen, who plays Kelly Kapowski Morris on the reboot, can confirm just who Mac’s real dad is.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar Has Never Seen An Episode of 'Saved By The Bell'

Mark-Paul Gosselaar made a big confession to his fans today – he’s never actually watched an episode of Saved By The Bell!

The now 46-year-old actor starred in the hit teen show as Zack Morris, the narrator who broke the fourth wall throughout the series as he navigated the ups, downs and drama of high school.

In an announcement for his upcoming podcast, Mark-Paul stated that “for years I have been asked by the dedicated fans of Saved by the Bell to revisit the show. I couldn’t wrap my head around an idea that would keep the audience entertained and celebrate the beloved series we created over 30 years ago, mostly because I can’t remember a thing about making it, and I am thrilled to say I have found the answer.”

He continued, “As my co-host, Dashiell Driscoll will be my key to unlocking every door at Bayside, a key he assures me Zack Morris would’ve had.”

Mark-Paul then added that he hasn’t “watched a single episode in its entirety since I walked off the sets in 1993. It’s time to wheel that big television into class. Go Bayside!”

The podcast, titled Zack To The Future, will debut on July 31.

If you haven’t seen it, check out the trailer for the reboot series that will stream on NBC’s Peacock!

Tiffani Thiessen is helping feed her Saved by the Bell co-star while under quarantine!

Mark-Paul Gosselaar took to Instagram to reveal that he picked up eggs from the 46-year-old actress’ garden.

“I’ve gotten a lot of phone calls lately of people wanting produce, and there’s so much citrus happening right now… I’m definitely a hot commodity in the neighborhood,” Tiffani said in an interview with ET. “He [Mark-Paul] actually came to me. What I did is I actually put them outside our gates and then he actually came by and picked them up because he was out and about. He doesn’t live far. Maybe 15 minutes, 10 minutes at most. So he’s not far at all.”

Tiffani‘s massive garden features rows of vegetables, several fruit trees, and seven chickens.

“We wake up every morning feeling thankful that we’re healthy and that we have each other, and everybody in my circle is good,” Tiffani added. “It is what it is and we’re trying to make the best of it.”

Mark-Paul Gosselaar Reveals How Much Zack & Kelly Time We'll Get With 'Saved By The Bell' Revival

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is opening up about the Saved By The Bell revival and just how many Zack and Kelly moments fans will get to see.

Speaking with TVLine recently, the 46-year-old actor, who brought Zack Morris to life on the hit series, revealed how much he and Tiffani Thiessen will be involved with the new show.

“As far as I know, she will be in an episode or two with me,” Mark-Paul shared. “She was, at the time, working on [Netflix’s Alexa & Katie].”

He added that their limited number of episodes aren’t “necessarily because of our desire to do it. It was more of a commitment to other things.”

“The fact that ABC is allowing me to do something for NBC, I’m super gracious that they’re allowing me to do that,” Mark-Paul added, while promoting mixed-ish with his on-screen wife Tika Sumpter and on-screen daughter Arica Himmel during the 2020 SCAD aTVfest in Atlanta this weekend.

Mark-Paul will be in three episodes of the revival, and also serve as an executive produer.

FYI: Tika is wearing a Temperley London dress.
