Stephen Sondheim's Final Musical 'Here We Are' Draws Star-Studded Crowd for Opening Night Celebration

The new musical Here We Are, which is the final show from legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, has officially debuted off-Broadway.

A star-studded crowd stepped out to attend the performance on Sunday night (October 22) at The Shed’s Griffin Theatre in New York City.

Among the stars pictured in the gallery are Lee Pace, John Benjamin Hickey, Katie Holmes, Jim Parsons, Sara Bareilles, Phillipa Soo, Sarah Paulson, Nathan Lane, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Paul Rudd, Andy Cohen, Chris Rock, Jane Krakowski, Annaleigh Ashford, Josh Groban, Zachary Quinto, and Josh Gad.

Josh and Annaleigh are currently starring in the revival of Sondheim‘s Sweeney Todd while Sara and Phillipa recently led the revival of Sondheim‘s Into the Woods.

Cast members photographed at the opening night party included David Hyde Pierce, Steven Pasquale, Rachel Bay Jones, Bobby Cannavale, and Micaela Diamond.

The New York Times says that the show “is a worthy and loving farewell to the great musical dramatist.”

Here We Are is running at The Shed through January 21.

Broadway's 'Camelot' Cast, Including Phillipa Soo, Performs Medley of Greatest Hits at Tony Awards 2023! (Video)

The Broadway cast of Camelot came together for a performance of the show’s greatest hits at the 2023 Tony Awards!

Andrew Burnap, Phillipa Soo, and Jordan Donica led the performance on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

The cast performed the songs “C’est Moi,” “The Lusty Month of May,” “If Ever I Would Leave You,” and “Camelot Reprise.”

The show was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical and Jordan was up for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical, but they unfortunately went home empty handed. You can see Jordan‘s red carpet photos in the gallery.

Annaleigh Ashford Wins Presitigous Prize at Drama League Awards, Joins Broadway's Best at Luncheon!

Annaleigh Ashford just won one of the most prestigious awards in the Broadway community!

The Tony-winning actress picked up the Distinguished Performance Award during the 2023 Drama League Awards on Friday afternoon (May 19) at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Annaleigh beat out 46 other nominees to be the sole performer to be recognized by the organization this year. She won the award for her work as Mrs. Lovett in the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd.

Some Like It Hot won the award for Outstanding Production of a Musical, Into the Woods won Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Leopoldstadt won Outstanding Production of a Play, and A Doll’s House won Outstanding Revival of a Play.

Broadway's Biggest Stars Went to Met Gala 2023 During Their One Night Off!

The biggest stars currently on Broadway were all at the 2023 Met Gala!

Lea Michele, Ben Platt, Alex Newell, Josh Groban, and Jodie Comer were just some of the stars who walked the red carpet for fashion’s biggest night on Monday evening (May 1) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Broadway shows are typically dark on Monday nights, which makes it possible for the performers to attend the event as it’s their one day off during the week. Did you know that Broadway shows are performed eight times a week?!

Broadway Stars Phillipa Soo & Jeremy Jordan Debut Their New Movies at NYC Premieres!

Broadway stars and Tony-nominated actors Phillipa Soo and Jeremy Jordan both have new movies coming out soon!

Phillipa was joined by her co-star Luke Bracey at the premiere of their new film One True Loves on Monday night (March 27) at the Whitby Hotel Theater in New York City.

That same evening, Jeremy stepped out with co-star Jay Pharoah at the screening of their movie Spinning Gold at the Roxy Cinema in New York.

Here’s the synopsis of One True Loves: “Emma and Jesse are living the perfect life together, until Jesse disappears in a tragic helicopter crash on their first wedding anniversary. Four years later, Emma has found happiness again and is about to marry her best friend when Jesse resurfaces, turning her world upside down and leaving her torn between two great loves.”

Spinning Gold tells the story of music executive Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records, who would rewrite history and change the music industry forever. Over the course of one tumultuous decade from 1966 to 1977, determined to make a name for himself but millions of dollars in debt, Neil turns his love of gambling into a superpower when he takes on artists that the world isn’t ready for, and risks everything to carve out a place for them in the music world.

One True Loves will be released in theaters on April 7 and on digital on April 14. Spinning Gold hits theaters on March 31.

Listen to Sara Bareilles & Broadway's Star-Studded 'Into the Woods' Cast Sing Sondheim's Music!

The official cast recording for the Broadway revival of Into the Woods has been released and you can listen to Sara Bareilles and the star-studded cast performing Stephen Sondheim‘s beloved music!

Sara, Patina Miller, Brian d’Arcy James, Phillipa Soo, Gavin Creel, and Joshua Henry led the original cast of the revival and are all featured on the album.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress Julia Lester is also featured on the album as Little Red Riding Hood. She made her Broadway debut in the revival!

Into the Woods is currently running on Broadway through January 8. The full album just got a digital release and it will receive a physical release on December 2.

Hamilton's Renee Elise Goldsberry & Phillipa Soo Reunite at Tony Awards 2022, Plus More Broadway Stars Step Out!

There was a mini Hamilton reunion on stage at the 2022 Tony Awards!

Renee Elise Goldsberry and Phillipa Soo presented an award together on Sunday (June 12) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Their co-star, and the show’s writer, Lin-Manuel Miranda was also in attendance at the annual show.

Some more Broadway stars who were at the Tonys to present awards included Danielle Brooks, Patina Miller, Bebe Neuwirth, and former The King & I co-stars Kelli O’Hara and Ruthie Ann Miles.

FYI: Phillipa is wearing a Bibhu Mohapatra dress. Kelli is wearing a Bibhu Mohapatra dress, a Judith Leiber bag, and jewelry by Lang Antiques and Stephen Russell. Danielle is wearing a Viktorluna dress.
