Stephen Colbert is sharing his picks for the next host of The Daily Show!

The 58-year-old The Late Show host previously hosted the Comedy Central series The Colbert Report and was a correspondent and guest host for many years on The Daily Show.

Stephen is a guest on the new episode of Hell of a Week with Charlamagne tha God and he opened up about his thoughts for Trevor Noah‘s replacement.

“As long as [Trevor] is in that chair [Comedy Central] will be fine. They’ve got nothing to worry about as long as Trevor is hosting The Daily Show,” Stephen joked when asked about the replacement.

Stephen then offered up some potential names for the new host.

Trevor Noah Is Paying Salaries of 25 Furloughed 'Daily Show' Staff Members Amid Pandemic

Trevor Noah is helping out his own team in a big way.

The 36-year-old Daily Show host is pitching in by personally paying the salaries of 25 furloughed staff members amid the global health crisis, Variety confirmed on Thursday (April 30).

He reportedly informed crew members that he will continue to pay their salaries until production “begins to ramp back up in the television industry.”

“These are the people who have been on the show with Trevor from day one and help him put on the show. Trevor is personally covering their salaries until the production business opens again. He respects his crew tremendously and feels it’s only right that they get thru this together,” a source told the publication.

He has been hosting a remote version of The Daily Show, called The Daily Social Distancing Show With Trevor Noah, from his home amid the pandemic.

Trevor Noah Extends 'The Daily Show' Contract Through 2022!

Trevor Noah is staying behind the Daily Show desk for five more years!

Comedy Central and Trevor both agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in place as host, writer and executive producer of the show through 2022.

“I’m thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central. It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all – whichever one comes first,” joked Noah in a statement.

Trevor recently won his first-ever Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series with Daily Show: Between the Scenes at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
