Check out the just released trailer and poster for Leonardo DiCaprio‘s upcoming flick The Great Gatsby, in theaters December 25!

Here’s the film’s synopsis: Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio). He is drawn into Gatsby’s circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.

Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton, and Callan McAuliffe also star in the Baz Luhrmann-directed flick.

Andrew Garfield shows off his biceps on one of the dual covers of VMan magazine’s Summer 2012 issue.

The 28-year-old The Amazing Spider-Man actor was interviewed for the issue by the original movie Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire. Here are some of the highlights from their chat:

Tobey on Andrew being cast in the role: “Actually, when [the film] was coming together, I was particularly excited at two moments: one was when [director] Marc Webb got involved. I think he’s an interesting and cool choice. and then I was certainly curious as to who was going to play Peter Parker. When I heard it was you, I was literally like, f–king perfect! I just want it to be great, and I thought, What a great actor Andrew is, I’m glad that’s what’s happening here.”

Andrew on the casting process: “It was pretty basic, apart from it being more dragged out and pressure-filled and dramatic than any other audition process I’ve ever been through. They like to put you through the ringer, in the respect that it creates drama and tension among a generation of actors. And they succeed every time, it seems. But, no, it was great. I’m friends with a few of the guys who were up for it, and I actually had dinner with Jamie [Bell] the night of my screen test and his screen test. We compared notes and war stories, and we kind of got past the ridiculousness of it all and thought it would be a nice idea to get everyone together and kind of interview each other about how messed up the process is, being against each other, and remember that we’re all in it together, knowing that when you take off that bodysuit someone else is going to be stepping into your sweat immediately after.”

Andrew on satisfying the fans: “I just feel such a great responsibility to the story and to the fans, because I know in my heart how much this character means to people, because it means that much to me. For the sake of all the people who care about it as much as I do—I want to bring the character to life and make sure they’re as satisfied as they can possibly be.”

Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer walk the red carpet at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actor wore a Prada black lana mohair one button tuxedo with satin piped lapel, white popeline shirt, and black satin bow with Prada eco-leather shoes.

Jennifer wore a Prada navy double duchesse scoop neck racerback gown with contrasting pink piping, Edie Parker clutch and Prada shoes.

Earlier in the day, Tobey was spotted leaving his Manhattan hotel.

Tobey Maguire takes his kids out for a walk on Thursday (May 3) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actor took their two children, Otis and Ruby, to the Children’s Museum of Modern Art, then went for a stroll around the West Village.

Tobey has a few new projects coming up. You can catch him next on the big screen in The Details, which hits theaters across the country on September 7.

Tobey Maguire is all smiles as he steps out with his wife, Jennifer Meyer, and their adorable kids, Ruby and Otis, on Sunday (April 29) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old actor and his family enjoyed the beautiful weather and stopped at a local organic restaurant to grab a bite to eat.

Ben Affleck lends his support at the Children Mending Hearts Spring Benefit on Sunday (April 22) in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

At the event, the 39-year-old actor and director enjoyed the music by the DJ of the night: Tom Cruise‘s son Connor!

Ben‘s wife Jennifer Garner also made an appearance at the event.

Also at the benefit, where Fatburger was served to the guests, was Tobey Maguire and True Blood‘s Sam Trammell.
