Maury Povich Says He Would Come Out of Retirement for Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson DNA Test

Maury Povich is invested in the possibility of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson being brothers!

The 84-year-old former Maury host, whose signature talk show aired from 1991 to 2022, is offering Matthew and Woody a chance to find out if they’re actually related after Matthew revealed that the rumors were started by his mother.

A recent E! News interview with Matthew included a video message from Maury, in which the former TV personality tells Matthew that he “would come out of retirement” to conduct a DNA test with him and Woody.

“We could do primetime, ‘DNA: Maury’s Back With Woody and Matthew.’ I’ll even get my showtime color back in my hair,” Maury declared. “Woody’s got my number. I’m ready.”

While Matthew acknowledged that Woody, 62, may be open to the idea of a DNA test, the 53-year-old actor is hesitant.

“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ Matthew said. “I got a little more skin in the game.”

DNA tests were a common occurrence on Maury‘s talk show, as the host became known for the phrase, “you are not the father.”
