Relationship drama often drives the plot of our favorite soap operas, and a happy ending isn’t always right around the corner.

Some characters find a fairytale love story, but it’s rarely without a few bumps along the road. After all, affairs, amnesia and so many other unexpected plot twists make it pretty hard for a relationship to go the distance.

There isn’t often quite as much drama in real life, but the set of a soap opera is actually a spot where romantic relationships are born between costars. While there aren’t as many wild plot twists, these love stories can be nearly as contentious as the ones we see onscreen.

And they aren’t all guaranteed to last.

We previously rounded up 15 soap opera couples who are dating in real life, including one that has been married for nearly 50 years!

However, we were able to find as many former couples who have broken up. Several actors have dated and even married multiple costars. Others made it decades before deciding to call things off.

The list also includes stars who divorced and called of engagements or simply broke things off. There’s also one iconic love triangle that started out as the plot of a popular soap opera before bleeding over into real life!

Teen Mom: Family Reunion is back.

The MTV reality TV series returns for Season 3 on Wednesday (March 13) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The series will be heading to Cartagena, Colombia in the show’s first-ever international destination, focusing on Teen Mom couples creating healthy relationships and healing from the past.

Here’s a plot summary: “Over the past decade, the moms have struggled with numerous issues including addiction, intergenerational trauma and infidelity in their search for love. In this season, the moms and dads tackle the obstacles in their romantic relationships with guidance from two expert relationship coaches, Dr. Mike Dow and Michaiah Dominguez. In addition to the coaches, the cast members will have each other to lean on through this process. Although no two relationships are the same, these couples share a unique common ground.”

There are several Teen Mom stars returning, and at least three stars who are not.

Kaley Cuoco flashes a smile for photographers while attending the 2015 Longines Masters of Los Angeles Welcoming Event held at the Petit Ermitage on Wednesday (June 10) in West Hollywood.

The 29-year-old Big Bang Theory actress was joined at the event by her Wedding Ringer co-star Ashley Jones, Arielle Kebbel, EEM Founder and CEO Christophe Ameeuw, and professional equestrian show jumper, Ashlee Bond.

Guests were treated to sweets from The Little Market and wore flower crowns from The Crown Collective. The Bouqs provided the bouquet wagon, and guests noshed on Steve’s Ice Cream throughout the day!

Kaley Cuoco arrives at the premiere of the film Angel’s Perch held at Laemmle’s Royal Theatre on Wednesday (July 17) in Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old actress was joined at the event by her sister Briana Cuoco and fellow actress Ashley Jones, who stars in the film.

Angel’s Perch is about a man named Jack, a successful architect living in Pittsburgh, who must make the trip to his tiny hometown when his grandmother Polly, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, is found wandering outside her house one morning. But what was intended to be a two day, under the radar trip to town becomes more complicated when Jack is unable to move Polly into an assisted living facility. Torn between the career opportunity of a lifetime, caring for his last living relative and running from his own painful memories, Jack’s carefully constructed life begins to unravel.
