Kate Beckinsale Slams BAFTAs For 'Cold Email' About Stepfather Roy Battersby, Who Isn't Being Guaranteed an In Memoriam Spot

Kate Beckinsale just took to social media to share a “cold email” she received from BAFTA (the British Academy of Film and Television Arts) after the passing of her beloved stepfather, director Roy Battersby.

If you don’t know, Roy has a huge list of credits and accomplishments to his name (all of which Kate mentioned in her post.) Roy even has a lifetime achievement award from BAFTA for his work.

BAFTAs 2024 Nominations Released - See the Full List of Nominees

Nominations for the 2024 BAFTAs have been revealed!

This year, Oppenheimer scored the most nominations with a total of 13. Poor Things received the second-most nominations this year with a total of 11.

There are some big surprises within the nominations including no nomination for Lily Gladstone and her director Martin Scorsese for Killers of the Flower Moon. In addition, Barbie’s Greta Gerwig and Poor ThingsYorgos Lanthimos were not nominated in the Best Director category.

The British Academy announced the nominees for their annual awards on Thursday (January 10).

This year’s ceremony is set to take place on February 18 live from London, England with David Tennant hosting.

The 2024 BAFTA Rising Star nominees have been revealed!

The British Academy announced the nominees for its only film award voted on by the public on Wednesday (Jan. 10).

“The nominees consist of five actors who have each demonstrated their remarkable talent in film over the past year, having captured the imagination of both the public and film industry alike,” BAFTA said in a statement, via THR.

Angela Bassett opened up about being told she “did the thing” by Ariana DeBose during a now-viral performance that opened the 2023 BAFTAs.

The 64-year-old Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress said that she thought the moment was “beautiful” and that she had been in touch with the West Side Story star.

She opened up about it while attending the 54th NAACP Awards with her husband Courtney B. Vance at Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday (February 25) in Pasadena, Calif.

Ariana DeBose Shares First Comments Since Viral BAFTAs 2023 Performance

Ariana DeBose is addressing her viral 2023 BAFTAs opening performance in a new interview.

If you didn’t see, the 32-year-old Oscar winner was supported by a crew of dancers while she rapped about some of the stars in the audience for the awards show. The clip quickly went viral and fans could not stop pointing out lines that included “Angela Bassett did the thing,” and “Viola Davis, my Woman King.”
