Coldplay Is Being Sued by Their Former Manager of Over 2 Decades

Coldplay is facing a lawsuit from their former manager.

The four members of the record-breaking British rock group – frontman Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion – are being sued by Dave Holmes according to new legal documents filed in the United Kingdom, via Variety.

A rep for Coldplay confirmed to the outlet that the band quietly parted ways a year ago with Dave after working together for 22 years, which is nearly their entire professional career. They now continue to be managed by the team of Phil Harvey, Mandi Frost and Arlene Moon, who worked with them and Dave for many years.

The lawsuit is reportedly a contractual dispute, although further information was not immediately available. The legal documents have not been made public yet.

The band re-signed their label deals with Warner Music’s Parlophone in the U.K. and Atlantic in the U.S., as well as Wasserman Agency, in 2021, right before their album Music of the Spheres.

Chris Martin Shares Rare Quote About Dakota Johnson & How She Impacted His Coldplay Concerts

Chris Martin mentioned his partner Dakota Johnson in a new interview and spoke about how she actually impacted his Coldplay concerts.

The 46-year-old entertainer made an appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast where he was asked about accessibility and how Dakota has helped this endeavor.

Chris explained, “They are called SubPacs. Dakota, my partner, gave me one as a gift because she saw someone online experiencing whatever they are experiencing with this—it’s kind of like body armor —you put it on and plug it in and it connects to the base.”

SubPacs appear wearable like a vest. The website says that the device is a “patented tactile audio platform that combines hardware, software and advanced materials to deliver deeply immersive and nuanced bass with far more resolution and range than traditional speakers and headphones.”

Chris then said that Dakota suggested he look into them, stating, “you should use this somehow.”

“So, we started using it and it’s been so amazing and it should get better and better. We have ten or twenty now—every night—of those packs and so if you’re hearing impaired we have an area where you sign up and you put on the pack and you can feel the show,” he added.

It has been nearly one year since we’ve had photos of Dakota and Chris together!
