Katharine McPhee has returned to the stage after suffering a family tragedy earlier this month.

The 39-year-old entertainer and her husband David Foster, 73, were in Italy on Tuesday night (August 22) for a private event, where they entertained the crowd alongside Kat‘s former Waitress co-star Erich Bergen.

Katharine and David were on tour in Asia earlier this month when their two-year-old son Rennie‘s nanny was killed in a tragic accident that occurred at a car dealership in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.

David stuck around in Asia to close out the tour while Katharine flew home immediately to be with her family. After mourning the tragic loss, they’re back to work and just performed in Italy for an event that has been planned for some time.

Yadira Calito, the nanny who worked for Katharine McPhee and David Foster for several years, tragically died in a freak accident last week at a Toyota dealership and now the company is speaking out.

An 84-year-old woman drove her car into the dealership’s customer reception area after accidentally hitting the gas instead of the brakes. Yadira was pinned under the car and dragged for 20 feet. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Two employees were injured in the accident.

Katharine and David were in Asia at the time of the tragic incident and she left their tour early to rush home.

More details have been revealed after Katharine McPhee announced that she was leaving her and husband David Foster‘s tour in Asia early.

On Thursday night (August 10), the 39-year-old entertainer let fans she will not be performing at the final two shows of their tour due to a “horrible tragedy in our family.”

Katharine McPhee has been touring Asia with her husband David Foster for the past week, but she will be leaving the tour early due to a family emergency.

The 39-year-old entertainer took to her Instagram account on Friday (August 11) to let fans know that she will not be performing at the final two shows of their tour.

“Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run,” Katharine began her message.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster had a busy weekend!

The married couple performed together at The Heart Foundation‘s gala honoring Dana Carvey on Saturday night (June 17) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Kat and David provided the entertainment for the evening, which supported the organization’s mission to save lives from heart disease by increasing awareness, educating the public, and funding innovative research at Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai under the direction of world-renowned cardiologist, P.K. Shah, M.D.

The next day, Kat and David were spotted out for dinner at Tre Lune in Montecito, which is about 90 to 120 minutes away from Beverly Hills.

The 9th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles was a seriously star-studded affair!

The likes of Christina Aguilera, Robert Downey Jr., Brie Larson, Chris Pine and Gal Gadot all walked the red carpet outside the event on April 15, 2023.
