“I’ve known you longer than I’ve known my wife!,” Steve said. Colbert quipped: “I’ve known you longer than I’ve known my wife,” he said. “We should be together!”

The two reminisced about their time together in Chicago’s Second City comedy troupe in the early 1990s, as well as the short-lived Dana Carvey Show skit “Waiters Who Are Nauseated by Food,” which eventually led them to be hired on The Daily Show together.

Steve Carell also admitted he never really watched The Office, as he doesn’t generally watch his work: “Sometimes the cast would get together, and we would watch it together, and that was really fun,” he said. “But no, I tend not to do that. I don’t know.”
