Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell‘s highly anticipated Lifetime original movie A Deadly Adoption premiered on Saturday night (June 20) and we’re recapping the film’s most “Lifetime”-ish moments!
The film is a high-stakes dramatic thriller about a successful couple (Ferrell and Wiig) who house and care for a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) during the final months of her pregnancy with the hopes of adopting her unborn child.
After news of the film’s existence leaked to the press, Will and Kristen had scrapped plans to release it. They later surprised fans by putting up billboards to announce the release date for the film. Make sure to go watch it!

The 47-year-old actor and the 41-year-old actress are joined in the trailer by Jessica Lowndes, who sports a fake baby bump.

It has just been announced that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig have made the tough decision to pull the plug on their secret Lifetime movie project.
“We are deeply disappointed that our planned top secret project was made public,” the 47-year-old actor said in a statement after news on the project surfaced. “Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film.”
Not much is known about the movie, which had already been filmed.
However, after news of the movie getting nixed, sources told TheWrap that the film is still being released.
